Default issues to look for on 1996 Legacy wagon w/105k miles?

friend of mine is looking to do a straight trade in at a dealership for a '96 legacy wagon (4EAT) with a hair over 100k miles on it.. any serious issues with these cars? anything to look for? they're offering her a straight trade on her 1999 Dodge Intrepid w/70k miles..

opinions?

i know there must be a FEW subaru guys in here..

Make sure it has wheels.

Serriously, ask in the legacy forum. The only things I say is ask about the headgasket, check the windows for being sealed correctly, and normal car stuff.

That's what I was thinking.

If you're looking to save money on a car, don't get a subie.

Why Adam don't Toyota Matrix AWD?

What are you wondering? There is a forum on this site where you're supposed to ask technical questions. The forum you are currently in is "Off-Topic," where technical questions are not supposed to take place.

i disagree. there are people here who have been around forever and know a good deal about subies, but this is the only place they hang out anymore. i also ask technical questions here from time to time. sometimes, you'll find more knowledgeable people here in OT than any of the technical forums.

I know, I ask technical questions too, I was simply stating the original intent of this forum. I'm still wondering why he wonders why I told him to post in the legacy forum, since a lot of people don't hang around off topic who would know what to look for.

the "legacy forum? " remark was an attempt at humor.. you know like.. "you mean there are OTHER forums????"

the only difference between OT and the tech forums is:

tech forums: weed through 15 posts with misinformation to get 5 good replies.
OT: weed through 15 posts of girls with shaved eyebrows, ppl making fun of you, srt-4 references, street racing posts, and wtlw, to get 5 good replies.
