Great pics. Love the white and, surprisingly, the red. Still think I'm going to stick with silver, but white is very tempting. Love the fog light bezels and the front lip.

How much did it cost you for all that? Did you have all done at the same place? Get a discount for doing it all in same place?

For all the DGM lovers out there, here she is! Picked her up Wednesday evening from Ladin Subaru Thousand Oaks... So far I have about 200mi in the clock. My first Subaru and I am loving it!

Here are some evening shots after work yesterday. The car is still dirty because I asked them not to remove any plastic/wash/or detail the car in anyway.

It was 1700 for everything from the same place. The best tint they had (no cell phone interference), full bumpers, hood, fenders, lights, and mirrors clear bra'd, and 2 year pearl nano ceramic coating over the whole car. I wasn't sold on the ceramic coating but I figured I might as well try it out and see how I like it. Normally from that place it was like 2100 bucks... I got a couple discounts

What is your reasoning for not having them clean or wash or detail it?

Probably because most dealerships' "detail" departments destroy your paint in seconds with the dirty coal water they use and mitts that look like they've been dragged from one end of the lot to the other.

If you don't care about swirl marks all over your car, go for it!

I did the same thing with our '15. I gave the signs to my salesman to put in the car the second it arrived, "DO NOT DETAIL, DO NOT REMOVE PLASTIC"

I'm definitely getting tint and a clear bra. I really want the ceramic coating too, but its soo expensive. It would be awesome to just rinse your car and it be spotless though.

I told my guy the same thing, I said do not take any plastic off that thing, I want to inspect the paint with you and I'll have one of my guys detail it for me. Ive just heard too many horror stories about cars coming off the lot looking like junk because the dealership doesn't know how to detail.

I came from a 2015-2017 model year, i did not hear/feel any difference in the sound deadening updates on the 2018, i hear more tire noise coming from the 19 inch yokohamas.

I drove both back to back at the dealership on side roads and highway and the 18 was slightly better but IMHO it was nominal. Should also consider both cars sounded extremely quiet compared to my v8 truck on mud terrains I was driving before

I picked my '18 up Friday and had told them to not remove plastic, drill holes, no stickers/decals/etc. They pretty much avoided all of that except the wheel plastic and seat/interior plastic was already off. They didn't wash it or anything though from what I could tell.
Before I left though, I had them take the rest of the plastic off (roof, trunk, etc) so I could make sure there were no scratches or anything before leaving. Only negative is you have to deal with the sticky crap from the stickers on the paint and windows yourself, but it's not that hard and it's worth it.

Yeah, regrettably I wasnt able to stop them from detailing it. He just told me the car had been taken for detailing. Come to find an inch and a half long scratch all the way through the paint when it returned from "detailing" and a 4 mile increase on the odometer.

Holy cow, that's awful, id ask them to find me a new car that hasn't been touched, I'm going to remind my guy again closer to delivery time, you'd think they would care a bit about how they treat their car enthusiasts

That is absolutely unacceptable. I would've been livid. 4 miles? Thats crazy. Who knows what those "techs" (using that term loosely) would've been up to.

Probably took it out for some "spirited" driving on the way to the wash. My dealer is pretty cool and owns an sti himself. So surely he will understand when I tell them not to detail and such.

Dumb Question: For those that have the 2018 STi, is Black Wheels your only option???
Sorry, I'm not a fan of Black Wheels but to each their own.

Buy car, then buy new wheels, sell old wheels. Problem solved!

Congrats.

Just curious how much of a hit did you take on that trade (if that's what you did)?
