long answer, I traded my 01 RS coupe for the 02 WRX wagon then I traded that for my 08 STi. which I then sold to pay off my wife's 09 outback so she could stay home from work to raise the kids. Drove an 11 Scion Xb for a short while. then traded that for an 08 E92 M3. sold that because I was paranoid about rod bearing failure and we got my wife a new outback in 2017. I went on to drive the 09 outback which will hopefully last another year when I plan on buying a last of EJ25 2020MY STi.

I have high hopes for the 2020 as well, can't wait to see it. I hope you get it. Nothing wrong with trading up and doing it for the kids. In this day an age, I can't imagine leaving kids with a sitter, it's just not the same.

Quick update before I head out (LATE as heck). I found some time yesterday to teardown the cylinder heads, clean them up, and prep for port work. My buddy was excited to help, so I dropped the heads off at his house as I am busy. The port work you will see is a mix of theories he and I have put together over the past year. Nothing new, it's all been seen. He and I just mix and matched our styles to make one.

with that said, so glad I prep for the worst at times, although the tests came back good; one valve seal just fell off, freely fell off, upon disassembly ("we now call it, valve seal walk" :P). Yes; we make up things to keep us all entertained.

Novice Teardown

Back from a 2wk Maui vacay with smaller than expected updates.... but progress is progress.

My family. Wife far left, and our 3 kids; 17, 8, 6. from the center down and out to the left.

my daughter took this while we watched the sunset.

and then, the true updates. Car is behind schedule 2wks, but it's ok. The bodyshop is being attentive to details, which is imperative and essential to my "happiness." I was told on sight, "silver hides a lot." Clearly, lol. Narrating some of what's going on here, the original owner of the shell, went a bit tooooo crazy with the old flare install, making it a challenging to mount the new flares. I have no idea what OP was doing, but it's created more work than anticipated for these guys. I'm looking forward to the semi finished product because there's loads more planned in time.

Since they had the window sash/trim out I went and picked up some new weather stripping. Then took a few more pics of their progress when dropping them off.

This gift is for a forum member (Doug), he's always looking out for me and tagging me in relevant FB posts. When I saw it, it registered with the bro code, so I had to get it for him. I know he lurks, therefore I've removed packaging logos hehe

well guys, it's now official. I can happily speak on the subject. Just before our hawaii vacation we had entered escrow on our very own home, just under a 3 week ago it happened. Today I can say we are finally moved in!!!

Regarding the subaru, riddled with delays and setbacks, I just put it to the back burner. A day or so ago, I get an update saying it would be going to paint today. I didn't follow up as work was busy, but let's hope we all are enjoying the last batch of some precursor pics.

Shop called me for the wheel locks, upon arrival I was greeted by the sight of a nearly completed job ... in the words of my favorite MMA fighter Phuk Yeah!

TY TY, I'm ecstatic to have it back man.

Had to hit the AC shop again. The high side hose burst yesterday. Glad the Lord sent a breeze my way, 'cuz the day was hot at work, but driving home was schweeett! Today my buddy made a stronger one and got me back on the road.

Thanks definitely much better than before IMO. I'm happy with where it's at RN. I have plans to drop the CF trunk off to get paint matched next week. I'm really excited because now I can finally install some of this parts collection.

Got some time to hit the garage, it's time for the TGV deletes. I'll be taking a break until tomorrow, hoping I can clean the intake side of both heads and get all the debris out.

night cap, scraping the old gaskets off was a PITA

Donor pcs from the spare motor. I Ported TB to a conservative 67mm tapering to a 65mm, IM ( inlet & runners)

Going to be installing any phenolic spacers while you've got the intake out?

Have fun and enjoy it, my only advice is build what you wish to see. You'll enjoy it after. Best of luck.

Intake manifold came out great. I like the brighter finish over stock.
