Driver Side AVCS Cam Gear Gap/Fitment
I can't get my drivers side AVCS gear on. It bottoms out on the cam and doesn't even reach the pin hole. Pretty sure I have the right seals on, and all the other cam gears fit on nicely and torque just fine. Do I have the wrong cams on either side? I left them just how my machinist had them when I bolted and closed the heads up.
I've just measured both sides now, and I believe my camshafts are on the wrong side. Anyway to tell when I take the valve covers off again, do they have any numbers or lettering on them?

Did you mix up intake with exhaust? If they are stock cams I believe there should be a imprint on them "INT" or "L-EX or R-EX".

Look up the gears and see, there is a short and a tall side like the ex gears

Yeah they did get mixed up, unfortunately I could only tell by finally finding a side by side of the cams and seeing that they’re different lengths. Most of the markings on them were gone, I’m assuming from being cleaned at the machine shop but who knows. The valve lash is fine anyway, just gotta get a good day to RTV everything back up again.
