![]() I was initially super hyped for the 370z when announced, but really didn't care for it much on test drive as a prior Z owner. I don't think there was inherently anything wrong with the chassis; the immediate annoyances for me were NVH, bad controls (numb/poor steering response, sloppy shifter), the car felt built to a price and less solid than my prior 300zx which may have been chassis related. But when a modern evolution with a massive overhaul of the platform, switching to electronic rack, different suspension (presumably available adaptive dampers since they are on Q60; although I don't think this initial press junket has mentioned them yet), much better and smoother drivetrain, etc. its difficult to spitball where the feel of this thing will land. I'm cautiously optimistic, but really the wait for me is to see what journalists think of the handling feel.

![]() Thanks. That's basically the feedback I was hoping for, someone who's been into the Z, but kind of fell away. I'm open to $40k for a Japanese muscle car, but it has to be VERY compelling.
That or getting a good deal on a used Supra and spending $12k on the manual conversion. Hmmmm.... Gotta see how that's been working out for others. Update: https://eagusa.com/a90-supra-6-speed-conversion/ $15k for the conversion kit, or... $25k for them to convert for you. For that price, I'ma just borrow a buddy's garage and pay him with a bunch of beer and pizza. ![]() ALSO, doesn't include the transmission itself. Sheesh. Toyota needs to just offer a manual for the Supra and watch the money rain down from the skies. Last edited by chanomatik; 08-19-2021 at 07:07 PM. |

![]() The Supra ECU, steering rack, transmission, and suspension were tuned by Toyota engineers. It drives very different than the Z4 or any other BMW I’ve driven.

![]() I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be the case. Toyota probably doesn't mind, either. Offer the Supra in AT only for a few years, then release the MT to drive up demand and hype again. They'll probably get a decent amount of people wanting to trade in their AT Supras in favor of the newly released MT.

![]() LOL @ all the BMW / Supra talk in a Nissan thread..
Goes to show how long it's been since Nissan has had something worth talking about. I hope this Z rocks. It's looking like it will as long as the Performance edition doesn't come in @ $50K street, but it probably will. |

![]() It’s a great formula. RWD, V6 turbo, manual or auto, etc. Nissan has had a lot of recent struggles so it’s nice to see them even offer a sports car.

![]() good job for nissan to offer 6sp manual, that would be a big reason for me to get this car.
if i settle for an automatic 2seater RWD, i would just skip the Supra and get a C8! The C8 is as iconic as any other sport car with long list of racing history, this supra is a Bmw ![]() |

![]() Kinda can't wait to see someone put old school rear window louvres on this beast. They've been coming back on some muscle cars in recent years and I am freaking here for it.
I have a problem, I know. |

Me too. Something kinda Supra-ish, and, perhaps, even see a Touring-style wing too. |

![]() In this thread there was a video of the COO stating it would cost around $40k and I'm sure that will be the base model
