How does the MAPerformance J-Pipe sound with the R400? Everything I have seen says the R400 drones so I have all but written it off. I would really like the R400 if it does not drone on the highway (6th gear 60-80 cruising).

I am also looking at Phatbotti for an e-tune this winter when I am ready.

You can check my channel for a video with this exhaust if that helps. But I really like it. I got used to the drone within a day and now I don't hear anything, freeway or street, doesn't matter what rpm. When I first installed the exhaust I really hated the drone on my drive home and was disappointed. Every time you give it gas it just droned. But the next day I liked it. No idea of anything sound-wise changed in the car or I just got used to it that quickly, but it sounds awesome. And I definitely recommend an e-tune from them if you can't get a pro-tune. I've had both and there is quite a difference, but e-tune is fine.

Hit up Ron for a quote! Mine was 500 total.

It's a stock wheel, wrap is stitched by myself with real alcantara. It's not a subispeed wheel. The wrap was never made to fit 100% as it's the same width all around. I got it for super cheap from someone and he just cut it to the right length/width, that's all. Feels 10x better than stock though.

What is your opinion on the ESR wheels? Are there any center cap options other than ESR caps?

I like them. The quality is great for replica wheels. Your only other option for caps is plain black ones from ebay. I'd just run with no caps as I do. Their caps are hideous. Their rotary forged series has decent caps though, not sure if those fit.

Is mid 300 whp a bit too much to ask for the wrx?

By the way, your channel is super underrated!

Thanks man! And to answer your question, it's not the hp that stresses engines, it's the torque, specifically at lower rpm. 350 wheel torque is the most anyone should run on stock rods. I've met someone who ran 400 tq and bent a rod. Mine is 302 hp 327 tq. It's the torque you feel when you accelerate anyway, so i wouldn't worry about hp numbers. Also, make sure you go to a really good tuner. For me that's phatbotti hands down. Ron knows what he's doing so you won't hurt the car even at higher power levels.

Ah that makes sense.

I've heard him name quite a bit but I don't live in California. I was considering his E-tune when it's time, but for the money i might as well get a pro-tune, apparently there are some good techs out here in Dallas.

Just watched your c.f. pedal and headlight videos. Great stuff. I subscribed! Do you have rubbing issues with such negative offset wheels?

Thanks! No rubbing anymore. If you watch the last video i made (overview), i talked about the fender work I did to make the setup work without rubbing. Too much work if you ask me, but really wanted 10.5" wheels no matter what.

Looks great. I just did the sti style fog bezels on my 18 base as well. I moved my turn signals to where the high beam would go in the headlight. How did u do yours?

yeah exact same thing that I did! I wedged the bulb bases into those holes and used the gasket maker silicone to seal them. Worked out perfectly. The sti bezels look awesome on these cars. I look back at the old pics without them and it's borderline gross with the fake fog light bezels and amber signals.

It's just a generic wrap, not fitted. I stitched it on without removing the wheel. Took a few hours. It's worth it as a temp wrap. Authentic alcantara but has gaps, etc. I will eventually look into getting a new wheel. For now this works fine.

I got those from subispeed. You can also find them on ebay but the subispeed ones are cut nicer and thinner. The best way to apply them is to spray both the tailights and the vinyl with slightly soapy water, then maneuver the vynil until you get it perfect, and squeegee out the liquid. Once it dries it'll never come off by itself.
