Holy ****!!!
Speculation: This engine or a slightly massaged version of it goes in the ATS-V, while the CTS-V takes a hiatus until they develop a forced induction variant on the new LT1. |

I never thought I'd say it, but this is actually too much power for the people who drive these.

420 hp in this car is just crazy. Part of me keeps saying to myself, 420 HP in the NON V version. Wow, that is crazy. That is just lunacy!
But let me be the first to say this. If Caddy wanted to shake up the mid range mid size market. Putting 420 HP in their non-V car is a good way to walk up to the 535i BMW and give him a taste of the back of his hand. This is bold. This is how you lead. This is what once made GM and Caddilack GREAT back in the 40-60's. I still hate Caddy for the political views they keep, but product reigns supreme in the car buying world. PRODUCT! Caddy led GM out of hell, and now they are continuing to push. This is lunacy for sure, but such sweet lunacy it is. |

please let there be an ats-v wagon with this engine and a manual.............a brotha can dream I supose. I wonder how this motor contrasts with the LT1 for efficency and weight. It reminds me a bit of the northstar V8 which I believe wasnt too far off ls1 power but had the "sophistication" caddy buys wanted. Then again I am not exactly a caddy historian so I might not have that quite right.

At that level, wouldn't it be more like taking the white glove off to slap them with? Or would that be the super car level? |

Woah, Talk about a Sledgehammer. I'm really questioning the need for so much power in a base sedan. Hell, even being able to buy a 400hp 180mph Mustang for under 30K is getting on to be dangerous.

Wonder if we'll see more of this engine in other GM models.
Silverado ecoboost would be cool. |
