TD05 doesn't really mean a lot. All I can tell you is that the exhaust inlet is 5cm = ~2".

its not that tiny..
its bigger than an T27 i know that for sure.

the TD05 i've heard it being compared to the size of an Garrett T03 turbo.
But there are many different kinds of TD05..
the TD05-16G TD05-20G and others...
TD05-20G is about the same size as an Garrett T03. i've heard its a very superior design.. but this is all word of mouth.

does anybody have a website with the Mitsubishi turbos specs??

That's pretty big. My friend has a pair of TD06's on his 300ZX and it makes over 800hp (full boost at 3,000!!!) so I'm guessing a TD05 can support about 350hp on our engines but not make full boost until about 4,000rpm's... Just a guess though

Well, I have a:
Mitzu TDO5-12A-8CM2 turbocharger, rated at 320 CFM @ 15psi.

But am only running 6psi, and with the right setup its almost like a supercharger. I would venture to say Im about 210hp, with lots of torque.

Smaller turbos might not have a great top end, but the make the car pleasantly drivable.

Since were on the subject I have a TDO5H-14B from my 1st gen. DSM. How would that turbo be on an RS.

I also have a TBO 359 garret turbo (needs to be rebuilt) from a old mercedes diesel.

Thumbs up

Adam, that turbo probably would work relatively well, if you had it ported and clipped. Clipping shouldn't hurt you at all in lag time because you have an extra .5 litres of displacement. That turbo should support ~300bhp according to all the DSM guys. Good luck!
