Gentlemen start your engines! I'm glad to see you're all excited to get dipped. I'm still waiting for a nice sunny weekend to get some dipping in. Temps in the 70's are best. We're getting close but not quite there.

I'll edit the main post, I only do Subarus for free now days. Dipping keeps me away from my family so I have to limit my free time to the cars I love the most. Thanks all, and please PM me if you'd like to schedule something.

n.swaim, check your inbox. I'm always down to help a soldier. Thanks for your service!

Still loving the pearl white. One issue I'm finding is doing spot repairs are harder to match due to the mix of pearl with the white. Wish they just sold a white pearl
Some pics/vid from that day to give everyone an idea what it's like:

FYI, peeled off the dip this weekend. Took less than 30min to get the big stuff off. I had tried to do some repair with spray cans of white and pearlizer but it was impossible to blend it properly. While I loved the color choice I made it did show pollen and other scuffs easily. If I were to do it again I would go with a single color option that I could repair more easily. No issues with the paint under the dip fyi.

Ahh too bad man I really loved that color. I'm glad you had no issue peeling the dip off.

Awesome job and great looking ride. I am wondering the effect in hot TX sun in the summer? Is it going to hold okay?

Summer heat will not cause any problems with the dip. This will be the second summer with the dip on.

Soobiecabra - you seem to know plenty about this so i'm going to ask you if you've ever used plasti dip solely as a protectant layer. like, a spray on film to protect your hood/grille/bumper/side mirrors from rock chips, for example or if a different product makes more sense (like 3M Paint Defender). would be interested to know how much clear plasti dip with a gloss layer would look different from the rest of the car

Yes, I use clear plasti-dip on vehicles with a top layer of glossifier. In order to get it thick enough to work you'll need at least 7 layers of clear. I have some pics of my wife's old Silverado. Yes you can tell there is something there- it is nowhere near as clear as the 3M product but at a fraction of the cost and being easily and totally removable it makes up for it.

It actually gives a really cool frosted appearance to chrome on the front grill. I'll post the pic's tonight as I am at work right now.

I dipped the grill on my 2014 impreza 2.0. It looked awesome for a few days, but now it is peeling where the chrome piece meets the black behind it. It seems like the small gap there did not get filled properly, but it originally looked like it did. I cannot add an image so I will try to put it on a website and add the link in here. But any suggestions, if you understand what I'm talking about without the picture, would be great. The dip is only 2 weeks old and I'm gonna have to peel it off. It's looking terrible.

Peel it off and just dip the part off the car. That's the simple way to get it right. Otherwise you can try forcing some painter tape between the gap and an angle and give the dip a tougher angle to bridge?

I'm not charging for this, this is not a business. I got the dip bug and would love the practice. You buy the dip and beer and together we'll dip your ride using my knowledge, skill, equipment and garage.

Here is what it will cost you:
Tape, plastic and other prep $20
Plasti-Dip 4gal RDS bundle $208*
Beer $20
Misc. $Blood, Sweat & Tears (of joy over your awesome new plasti-dipped ride)
* freight adds about $25 and DYC has other colors that they upcharge for. Colors like the new electric lime for example are an extra $11/gal.

Here is what you save:
Labor $300-600

Here is what you gain:
... sorry, I couldnt find a picture of pure awesome-ness and total kick assness that will describe what you gain so settle for a pic of my WRX.

Please feel free to ask questions. PM if you want to dip!
Woah, that looks awesome! Do you still do this?

Default Want my G35 Dipped

Hey I was wondering if you still do dip cars. I have a g35 that I dipped its wheels myself with cans. Want to get my whole car done now. If you can that would be great
