Hopefully I get my miata squared away by the end of March to attend the first NE-SVT event. Noticed a slight coolant leak from the crank pulley (when not running) which means it has a bad water pump seal. I've never done a Timing belt/water pump job before, so hopefully I don't screw it up for this summer. I have two sets of tires I need to burn up this year!
I typically run with NE-SVT and BSCC. Looking to try out Lime Rocks Autocross this season as well.

Had an absolute blast at Thompson!

The staff was informative and very nice. Was really surprised that they didn't make us use any additional safety equipment, they didn't even check to see if any of us had license's! They did seem a little upset that I used their track all day for free when I told them I don't have 15,000 up front, 2,500 a year + black top fee's to be a member. But we had the entire day to bomb around the oval and hammer around the course.

As you can tell by the photo's that 90% of the course has it's first layer down. The first turn after the straight and the last turn before it are going make you pucker a bit to say the least.

Hopefully there will be a few video's put up to give you a better Idea.

I also attended the open house at Thompson and was surprised by the laid back nature of the day. They pitched the membership options to me and I was up front with the guy, telling him that a club membership was way out of my price range and that I was really just interested in seeing the progress they had made on the track. I told him that I would likely be running with other clubs at Thompson, and could be a future investor in a club membership, but that's a few big raises away for me .

Lapping the wet oval on snow tires was a blast. Like Warren said above... the first corner after that long straight is going to be insane!

Lunch Bump, thread has been quite for a while. The NER Awards ceremony was this weekend and I for one had an awesome time! It was also good to see some of the people who do a lot of the behind the scenes work get recognized properly.

Have had very little time to make progress on the engine rebuild but hope to have it ready for the first event of the season!

Is that a removable pedistal in the oil filter housing mount? Ive got a 257 block with a slightly broken mount and was looking for options on repairing it

Thompson photo's look great, membership is kinda what i figured it would be, club motorsports up here in NH is priced pretty much the same. Ill be doing the COMSCC event at thompson, and if im not strapped might try to go with nasa too

As a spectator Climb to the Clouds at Mt. Washington in June would be a great event as Rally America will be participating. The event is run by SCCNH.

From SCCA New England Region.

Quote:
"Hi Folks,

It's Autocross Season in the Northeast and I'd like to share the SCCA New England Region autocross policy for this year regarding registration for NER Solo events.

We will not accept walk-in registrations or additional entries after registration is closed. (Emergency situations will be considered and late fees will apply.)

NEW: We have a separate line item for optional donations to the local food pantry because we hope to give back to the Deven's community where we autocross.

2014 Car #'s: We don't have reserved # lists, but we do have a place to record your planned class/# so anyone registering can check for used #'s before joining us. This link is a special event for everyone to record their class and # so no one uses them during the year except you.

AND***8230;..To make it easier for everyone, we are doing the following:
Registration will close at 11:59 PM on Thursday evening prior to each 2014 autocross event.
Everyone with "SCCA New England Region - Solo" in your motorsportreg.com account will receive 1 email reminder the day before registration closes for each event.

If you need to cancel (car breaks morning of event, you are sick or any emergency comes up), just let us know by the morning of the event, and you will get a refund. Please sign up on time. It's easier to plan the event with a few cancelations than it is to add people after registration is closed. Keep in mind, our policy is to give refunds if you can't make it.

Help us out this year please, and register on-line and on-time if you plan to attend so we can put our effort into improving the event quality instead of trying to fit late requests in after heats are determined.

It's March already.. Here is the open registration for event # 1:
http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...D#.UwooPL8rVBh

Regards,
Event Chair: Bob Davis [email protected]
Registration chief: Barbara Seeger [email protected]"

I spoke with the registrar, you should now be able to reserve 2 numbers if you plan on running 2 separate cars.

Warren and I both procrastinated to long and didn't make it into NESVT for Saturday... their events are limited to 55 drivers.

But, not all of hope is lost for Saturday. Thompsons doing another open house. So I think I'll make the drive out and see what progress has been made. I have a lot of questions about the track that I didn't get a chance to ask about when I was there in Feb.

I'm concerned about the snow this week and chance of rain this weekend. Hopefully what ever snow we get is all melted by the weekend. Although, I wouldn't mind a wet or rainy event at Deven's in the least bit. All that slipping and sliding makes for good fun.
