Can anyone confirm if 17x8 or 18x8 +40's will need fender rolling?

I'm on KYB Excel G's.

Thanks!

Have a 2009 WRX Sedan and was wondering if anyone has seen or installed the WORK T7R in 18x8.5 +45? Will be using a 235 40 18 tire

Im pretty sure the offset will work but I dont want to have any caliper issues.

TIA

Default Wheel fitment

Would 18x8.5 +45 with 255/40/18 fit my 2009 hatch ? If I need to roll/pull my fenders I will.

Default The 08-10 WRX (non STi) 17"/18" wheels thread

This thread is back from the DEAD!!!

I've been looking at this thread for a while and finally pulled the trigger on some 18x8.5 et47 Work emotion Kiwami and 245/40r18's stock suspension, no scrubbing, nor camber, or fender rolling required.

I wanna pull the trigger on some rpf1s, but still trying to nail down the size. i'm thinking 18x8, and maybe 225 or 235/45s. Anybody have this setup they can share?
I swapped to a 6spd and i wanna a taller setup, just not sure how that would look in our wheel wells. I'm lowered on coils but would prefer not to roll my fenders if possible

Motegi 17x7 +48
All season 215
Stock Suspension

I am looking for a race track setup and and want to go 18x9. What do you think the best offset would be for handling and wheel well clearance?

I am also about to put a whiteline 1.4-2.5 inch drop coilovers and swaybars on that I just got in the mail. My current setup looks like it won't allow me to drop it the full 2.5 without hitting the fenders.

If you are going 18x8. Do 235/40 tires.

Bump!

Finally nabbed some used wheels on good deal . 245/45/17 17X9 +45

I'll tell ya there is no way I'm clearing fenders if I lower it lol. I want to do bilsteins with rce yellows but, will it clear those even after fender rolling? Or will I have to do some pulling?

How are you hatchback owners able to roll your front fenders? my rear fenders are rolled but the front doesn't have a lip to roll, its blocked by the plastic in the wheel well.

Default Trying my luck

Hello all,

I've got a sport 2.5 Impreza 5 door. Bone stock. Love the car and just put fresh set of tires on it for our westcoast winter.

Wondering if these will fit:
18 x 9
ET 30
5 x 114
225/40/18

As mentioned, my car is stock....not lowered or anything. My first guess is these will not fit due to the bolt pattern. We're 5 x 100 correct?

Just asking as I found a wicked set (like new with rubber for decent price).

Thx buds

Wrong bolt pattern and not enough offset

Anyone running RCE Blacks on OEM struts with the ~1 inch drop?

That's my current set up and I'm searching for some hard numbers on fitment. Looking at 18x8.5, +55 offset. I usually only see around 40-44 for offsets so I'm not sure on them.

looks like you already found your answer then. you need a lower offset for clearance on the inside of the wheel. i know this is not exactly your car, but the first post has some good descriptions of wheel fitment for the wide bodies that relates to narrow bodies:
https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2155863

if those stock dampers aren't already blown, they will be soon. if you actually care about handling, i would upgrade your dampers before you worry about wheels. that spring is too stiff and too low for the stock dampers, let alone 10 year old ones. even the 09-14 WRX dampers are under damped for their stock spring rates.

^^ What he said.

+45mm - +48mm is ideal for a narrow body with 8.5" wide wheels and minimal suspension work/no fender work. Run a 235/40 tire.

Thanks! Yeah, narrow body makes me sad sometimes, except when parking in tight spots.

I plan on doing Konis when I hit ~100k miles (only at 91k now). I know I said OEM, but what I meant was I swapped in the OEM WRX struts at the 77k mile mark with only about 43k miles on them as of now. I figured with the short commute I have, they'd last me until I can take care of some other upgrades.

I love the meaty tire thread and aim to get there in the future, but my first step is upgrading the stock wheels to something a little bigger without needing fender work since I'll need new tires within the year. I'll keep my search around your numbers Breezio. Thanks.

I did some pulling. I had same wheels with 255/40/17. I was lowered on Koni GC, never had rubbing issues with the 255s. I also had Whiteline offset tophats to get some more room on the strut side.

The plastic should be above a lip. That lip can be rolled.

Getting into the wider widths, the higher offsets will limit your ability to get negative camber. At +45 and 255 tires, full negative with the stock bolts left a few mm between the tire and the strut. I think +45 is the perfect offset and I think fender work is needed beyond 235. IMO, the "Meaty Tires" start at 255.
