Unhappy Oh Snap!

i don't know if this is the right forum or not, but here goes...

yesterday, i accidentally drove my WRX off an 8 to 12 inch curb - left front wheel only. upon coming down off the curb, i heard a loud CRUNCHING noise underneath my car - DAMN!

i immediately pulled over and looked under the vehicle. apparently, there are some plastic ducting (or vents) of some sort that run from the front of the bumper to an opening of some sort on either side of the car. the vents are pretty flat...welll, even more so now that i crunched the bastard...BEEEEEOCH! it didn't appear to affect the lower control arm or any of the other suspension parts, BUT that plastic duct/vent is uhhhh broken. should i be concerned? more importantly, does anyone know what these plastics thingys do?

thanks,
db97

They're cooling ducts that theoretically feed cold air into the wheel well to cool the brakes off. I have no idea how effective they are in reality, but they can't hurt. If yours are crushed or otherwise broken, I imagine they're not going to accoplish anything at all, you should go to your dealer and see how much the plastic pieces are to replace and do so if they're not too bad.

dont worry about them.. they dont do much anyway...

flimsy air cooling erm.. if that's what you wanna call it.

probably cost you more than it's worth to replace...
