![]() Been really busy but I found at my ride height the larger 235/45/17 Pilot Super Sports rub slightly when my old tires (235/40/17) did not. Added 5mm spacers up front and so far it seems to have no rubbing issues. I really should get my fenders rolled and a slight pull in the rear as well just to add a bit more clearance (currently only about a fingers width between the tire/fender.
Also I have been trying to speed up my tune by just sending in a data log and letting him go over things in his free time as he wishes but my V2 access port doesn't appear to like to "communicate" with my ECU when I go WOT on a log and gives me one of two things. (technically I see the error when I come OFF WOT at the end of my log attempt. 1) "connection to the ECU has been lost" screen with no readable log to speak of when I hook it to my computer. 2) "connection to the ECU has been lost" screen with a partial log, the best thus far lasting 2500-4500RPM (basically useless for what I need) I need to find another "silver dongle" that I can try from a friends V2 as a last option seeing Cobb no longer has them and only offer a "V2b" conversion option for $150 plus shipping. Beyond that I could just put the "race" software on my laptop and log that way but I want to solve the connection issue regardless. If this isn't solved it I will try my access port on someone else's car and see if its actually the car side connection that has the issue, if that is the case it wont be a cheap fix.

![]() I am not sure how to format the Excel file on this site so I just printed it and took a picture. But here is a Data log of the car, I really would like to get a true "full log" to 8k just seems to never save a good log if I don't cut it short. Alternator has bad bearings but once I replace those I will be back to trying to log.

![]() ![]() Hot day at the drag strip, just wanted to do a log on my way home to check things (ran w/o surge tank and second pump, slight leak so wanted to be sure I passed tech). Everything seemed normal, just thought I would post this seeing I had the "dip" fixed but am just waiting on the tuner to have time to really go over the car/tune. |

![]() Thank you. Goal was to keep it clean, quick/fast, and balanced. Yeah it pulls great for just under 19psi, looking forward to turning it up when my tuner has some free time. Nothing crazy tho, just a DD car that likes a good road course.

![]() Had an odd occurrence the other day, basically the car cut out and acted like it had very little power around the 5,000 rpm mark. I tried to get it to happen again to log it with no luck, it only happened 2-3 times and by the time I was ready to log it was driving perfectly.
So I decided to take the car to the drags this last weekend after I tested everything I could think of with no signs of an issue. Once I began it was clear something was not right, last time I came the car would trap 116-118 when my best trap Sunday was a 107. I was able to log it on the way home but from how it felt I wanted to minimize the pulls so cut it short just after it was clearly losing power. Pull #1 ![]() Pull #2 ![]() As this relates to the "good" graph I posted before, these two logs it pulled a LOT of timing starting between 5,000 and 6,000. As in from 10-11.5* down into the 2-5* range, also fine knock learn hit [email protected],000 then jumps to [email protected],800 and held till the end of the pull. So on a positive note I was able to easily log the issue, LOL. Also this couldn't be a better time seeing I can just put the car down for the winter and start pulling parts off to do some chassis work. I also will likely take this as another chance to clean up a few things and maybe get some of the interior things done I have been wanting to do. If anyone has any suggestions on what to start looking at in regards to the computer pulling timing and such that would be a great help. If not no big deal I have sent the logs out to my tuner already, he is just bust with R&D so know it will take him a bit before he can give it a solid look. |

![]() I have been meaning to build something to test my AOS for sometime now, a slow day at work apparently was what I needed to get the project done. This took about 30 min to make and has a few things I already want to change due to the materials limiting me due to the cut lengths I happened to grab (some of the tubes I used I wish were longer).
Full view (small holes on bottom will be plugged with pipe plugs to allow me to drain the canister) ![]() View from the bottom before I attached the base. ![]() |

![]() Well its all relative because I was not launching when trapping that, my 60' then was 2.2-2.3, when the time I was down on power trapping in the 105-107 range my 60' was 1.6-1.8.
But I think it was in the 12.5's. I just want thing sorted then to give it a hard run start to finish and see were it falls. Last edited by Scuby04STi; 11-10-2014 at 12:48 PM. |

![]() Version 2:
![]() Made just a few changes, still with just the scrap material but with the inner holes being raised it should be an improvement. |

For the cost involved it will out preform every AOS on the market cost/ounce separated, helps to be about about 1/40th the cost of the ones out on the market. LOL (seriously that cheap to build) But yeah like I mentioned I only built it to test what gets passed my Perrin unit, as well as to let a few friends test their AOS's with it (Crawford and few other brands). I thought it was a good idea, plus I was killing time at work on a SLOW day. |

![]() Had some spare time last night so seeing it is winter I decided to rip out my interior and begin the long process of removing the sound deadening and any other unnecessary weight I can toss out. I do plan to keep the car a functional "full interior" 4 passenger car, but things like stereo, A/C, possibly heater, smaller battery, basically thing of that sort might find their way into the parts bin if they have not already.
Car weighed in at 3107lbs (full tank) before I started to pull out the interior, rear seat was already out to be reupholstered so that clearly would add a few lbs. I don't have a goal weight to get down to figured out yet, but I will set one once I get a better idea of what is realistic. Any input as to what I can do for weight reduction would be awesome. |

![]() Just looked at your Perrin intercooler piping and noticed it has the cold side going up thru the passenger side. I haven't been under the hood of a GD in a minute but clearance might be tight for that piping to flip the manifold!

I have realized how easy/cheap making carbon fiber is when you are the labor cost so will likely replace some steel that is of no structural importance with carbon. Good example would be the sheet that runs from the frame rail to the fender well area, might trim that all out and just make a bolt in carbon piece to keep the debris out, or one that would duct air into the bay to keep temps lower. |

How much does the carbon cost? Kinda makes me wanna do the same to mine! speaking of ducting air I'm thinking about making an intake using the hood scoop since its now nonfunctional and I can't have that! I have seen it done on the GC8s and one Hawkeye never did get a response on how they worked when it rained... Sent from my XT1254 using NASIOC mobile app |

I wanted to do that at one point too, I prefer to have it as a vent. I think most ways to convert that to an intake use poor piping routing in genneral. But if its all done starting with the up pipe I think it could be done in a better configuration. Side note: Just got my seats back today from being recovered, so happy with how it turned out. I will post some pictures when I am at a computer next. |

I get what your saying in the piping for that intake setup isn't ideal however there are few setups like P&L's for example it does a hard 180 right out the compressor housing. The only way to get it "right" I'd think it would have to have the compressor inlet pointing at a ~45° angle towards the engine and even then running the downpipe would be TIGHT. And then the cold side pipe would have to run like the Perrin kit does. Oh hell yeah! I can't wait to see how they turned out! |
