Default Wrx Swap

I have a plans to swap a WRX engine into my 98 Legacy GT Limited.

My goal is to put a little more power to the wheels of my Legacy.

I want to keep my car automatic. I know that

The car will be daily driven. I don't want to race this car.

The swap in it self and the measure it takes for it to run smoothly and properly is enough for me.

I need to know everything that I am going to need to do this swap. EVERYTHING. ECUs, harnesses, etc.

Thanks pals.

He's telling you that you're in the wrong forum...

You might want to repost to the section he suggested so you'll get better answers/results. Best of luck with the swap!

seems rather pointless first of all....if its a DD and an auto why do you need to swap it....second of all you need to look in the conversions forum.....but like i said i really dont see the point in swapping if you just want to drive around town....might as well just keep the 2.5 and have it be a bit peppy down low when really thats all you are going to use

Original 2.5 shot a rod. I have a 2.2 in it right now. People daily drive WRXs and WRX STIs all the time. I would be getting a pretty solid power gain from this swap correct?

sure...but a stock wrx auto wont feel that fast...and it isn't cheap, all im saying is that you can keep it N/A for a lot cheaper if you want auto and dont plan to take it to its potential. im not telling you what to do but im telling you from experience a wrx swap isnt just a walk in the park on a legacy and it will cost you

In my head I had plans of getting a motor and components I would need for the swap. While still keeping an eye out for parts I would problely modify the engine itself ( within reason ) to get various power gains here and there depending on what seemed reasonable for a daily driven car. I just don't want to build a race car so to speak.

I wanted to do the standard conversion, but when I read some other forums it didn't seem that it would make HUGE difference unless I planned on racing it plus it would cost me another grand atleast to do the conversion and mess with the RD.

I have a lead foot. My previous care was a B16 swapped Civic hatch. I bought my Subaru because I always wanted a Subaru and I loved the Legacy GT and its body style for sometime. I finally found one, jumped on it for $3,000 with a 2.2 with no more then 70K on it and the only thing that bummed me was the A/T, but I kinda enjoy it a bit now when I'm tired, etc.

Ofcoarse when you get that initial itch to do something its not all that easy to shake. Then I started stumbling across cars like mine with solid swaps and work. So now here I am.

I need direction. I go to the LGT forums and they shug me a because I don;t own a Spec B and so I come back here of and on to get help.

Give me suggestions. It maybe work but I need know whats best and what I'm looking at.

The end result of a stock wrx engine, simply put won't be worth the effort, time, resources or money required for the conversion

If you're going to swap anyway then swap in a manual while you're at it!

I'm in the midst of a swap in my 97 GT right now, basically everything is the same as if you were swapping into a GC.
