Default Jim Reed and Stones River Motors in middle TN

After my experiences at two local Subaru dealerships I felt like I had to comment so that everyone in the Nashville area would have some experience. Well I started off going to Stones River Motors to pick up a timing belt and water pump for my Legacy. The parts guys were very friendly and helpful and were glad to give me a quote on the parts I needed. The price, however, seemed much higher than I was expecting after reading the board on what to expect. So I went back home and pulled up SubaruParts.com and found that the parts I needed would run $130 with shipping. Comparing my quote from the dealership I found that they were charging above list price for the parts. So with a print out from Subaruparts.com in hand I called up JIm Reed in Nashville. The prices I was quoted was in line with the list price but all parts were in stock so I decided so make the short drive to get them there. When I pulled up one of the sales people came out and greated me with a sincere hello, as opposed to the expected may I sell you a car today hello. I had chatted with this fellow before and as usual I found him to be a real Subaru enthusiast who just liked to talk subaru and consequently also sold them. After about 15min of just friendly chat, and my girlfriend getting tired of hearing me talk about cars, I gave the salesperson some info that he was curious about subarus and proceeded to the parts dept. I was greeted here with smiles and friendly service. The guy at the counter quoted me below list this time and confirmed that the parts were in stock. I then showed him the Subaruparts.com print out and asked if he could meet or beat those prices and he said sure. After he totaled it up I came out with $120 w/tax from Jim Reed, as opposed to $130 w/shipping from Subaruparts.com and $180 w/tax from Stones River Motors.
Needles to say I was ecstatic about my experience at Jim Reed. The guys there also gave me a little WRX SCCA ProRally sticker set and a great book of all the articles printed in magazines on the WRX to boot. Stones River Motors was nice but Jim Reed was GREAT! I highly recommend them to anyone. Find the sales man that has the crazy hair and speaks in an accent and you won't be disappointed, he is the best car salesman I have ever met. Check them out.
