Default Reflash Stage 2 Map with AP after intake??

Hokay... so I have a question... that I am sure is obvious but just wanted to be safe.
I am currently running Stage 2 Cobb right now on my car... i'll be putting intake on it soon. After I install the intake, should I reflash the Stage 2, or can I just leave it how it is? Like I said, probably obvious... but just wanted to check. Thanks

What intake? either way you won't need to reflash. I would recommend resetting your ecu (unplug the black side of your battery, press the brake pedal to drain the power, wait 15 minutes, plug it back in and start it up let it idle for about a minute, stay in vacuum until youre in 3rd at 3k rpms and gun it all the way to redline)

EDIT: mods close one of his posts, it's double posted

cobb has a stage2 map you run with their intake I believe. Is that what you'll be running?

You won't need to reload the base map. I think you mean resetting the ECU, as Spootypuff so kindly described. (I love that weird name btw.)

you DO NOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM need to reset your ecu.

I really wish people would stop spreading this horse crap. One guy who has no idea what he is talking about says it, then 10 more say it, soon everyone thinks its true.

YOUR ECU IS IN AN EVER LEARNING STATE. IT NEVER STOPS LEARNING. THAT INTAKE WILL MAKE VERY SMALL CHANGES, AND IF ANYTHING, YOU WILL MAKE IT LESS SAFE AND RUN WORSE UNTIL IT RE-ADJUSTS ITSELF.

Crappy intake? Too much oil on the new filter going through the engine and burning off?

Maybe coincidentally the excess oil had finished burning off. Just throwing out ideas. I personally think it's more dependent on what you're changing on the car rather than a flat out "flash it every time" or "don't flash it ever". If it was a quality intake you were changing, then I don't believe you would have needed to reflash. However, if you install an intake that isn't good for the car(probably shouldn't have installed to begin with) then reset the ECU, the ECU goes back to it's original(safe as can be) tune, which has everything reset including all the learned timing advance and everything else it's learned to increase performance while keeping it safe. So maybe this is your case, maybe it's not. Don't take what I say as law, as I am just a newbie, that has a decent understanding of how cars and ECU's work. However, Davenow does have alot more understanding of cars/subies and how they work and I would believe what he says over something that happened to one person anyday.

What??? You're right about the stock air box, however you are completely wrong about any cold air intake with stage 2. Maybe your tuner doesn't mind tuning the MAF for a CAI, which is ok, but CAI is NOT suggested for a basic stage 2 setup. Again with the bad info being passed around. I've been seeing that alot lately. Please do your research before posting the statement you just made. Especially read the thread about knowing what you're talking about before answering a question. I believe it's a sticky.
