Default "That's what you do all day?!?" WFH thread

So now that a few more OTters are work from home, what have you and your spouse learned about your day to day work?

I've been WFH for a week now, locking myself away in a spare room right off our main family room.

My wife today:
"I'm surprised you spend so much time on the phone."

Then later:
"I want to hear that voice you use on the phone in the bedroom."

Me: "I have a phone voice?"

I would not mind my wife's work phone voice. Very submissive, not at all like her real personality.

my building has about 300 people in it...all but 70 or so are WFH for about two weeks...as of tomorrow just my department of about 20 will be left...we cant WFH...so if someone in my dept gets tested positive no one will be left in the place and we go home for two weeks

Its true.

Try and notice when one of your friends gets called by their wife or whatever.
Voice quickly changes to a submissive tone

Everyone had that one buddy growing up who would have to duck into the corner when she called and softly whimper to her.

I'm probably more productive at home since I'm not wasting time watching YouTube. I "start" at 8 instead of 6....but honestly between 6 & 8 I didn't accomplish much.

I get too easily lost reading the odd ball questions that show up on the right pane. "What is the air speed record of a 747?" what IS the air speed record of a 747 :click:

I'm probably 85% less productive. In the office during bull**** meetings I could get work done by half paying attention to said meeting. Due the weekend overwork I'm now occasionally playing call of duty on my desktop one screen over to maintain sanity. Since family is now at home and wife has never experienced this in her life, I have to take an hour or two break occasionally to parent so she can get some work done. Then the rest of my time is a mixture of tending to animals, tending to projects, tending to the home and more non-bull**** meetings - while trying to actually work.
