I agree Subaru has become more vanilla than in the past. I think they are trying to extend vehicle longevity more so than ever. (most manufacturers these days are) Performance models usually require more maintenance, hence more vanilla (dependable) vehicles.

You are right at that Point. They promised at one autoshow in the past to Bring more STi models in USA. Dus not do that.. but new ťmission rules make it more difficult and less interesting to Bring. No Mazda MPS too anymore

Well, they did bring the BRZ tS and the STI type RA. Plus more STI parts and accessories are available now stateside than ever before. There are very few parts that are exclusively JDM even for my 17 Impreza.

tS does not equal STI

Actually, it does. At least by Subaru and STI standards. Everything is relative though. People say/act as if anything non-turbo is slow. I disagree.

Anyone else notice you NEED to wait for the HU to boot up before plugging in an android phone to use android auto?
If you don't, it literally will never run no matter how you unplug re-plug in, change cords, restart phone, switch to another known working phone, etc... until you turn the car off, wait 5 minutes for the head unit to fully shut down, then turn the car back on. Its obviously a 2019 forester head unit issue.. my 2019 WRX doesnt have this issue.

Weird and annoying! My 17 Impreza does fine whether I plug in and start the first or whatever. Hard to believe the quality would worsen two model years later. Sad.

How so? It's measurable. Do you mean adequate? Because there is huge difference there. Every time I go slumming and wind up in an econobox Iím reminded how I will always justify my purchase and pretend itís good enough. Then I get out of it into something considerably quicker and remember oh yeah holy crap night and day difference with how I need to approach driving.

Consider my 14 year new Legacy GT wagon is as relatively quick and as unreliable as the current WRX/STI. And I can put my entire house of belongings inside of it. That my friend is not what SOA wants the messaging to be. Which is **** and why I really dislike SOA at the moment. Maybe they can step up with something relevant to my needs. Maybe if they dump that CVT.

If you have a regular Impreza, yet everyone else is driving a motorcycle with regular tires, and you're all driving on snow/ice, more than likely you'll be going faster than them. Therefore the Impreza wouldn't be "slow" or "too slow".

All cars are slow compared to a fighter jet.

Everything relative.

But of course!

Look, I know what you're saying, from an emotional standpoint. Emotionally, I hate my Impreza. It is slllooooowwwww. However, actual real world driving, I whiz past most people, if not everyone, because the car is more than capable of getting around. Do I want to get around faster? Hells yes I does. Am I getting around fast enough? Sho nuff.

The 3.6R got slower by going from the 5EAT to the CVT. It also got a cheaper less capable AWD setup. Just using that as an example, Subaru is working overtime to go slower and keep the same engine specs. Will the next one be even slower? If they wanna keep their sales records going, it better be!

The evidence seems to be building towards that conclusion. Sad!

I finally got proper snow tires (Michelin X-Ice), so the Impreza is acting a lot more like a classic Subaru. CVT ain't so whiny.

I plug my S8 in before starting in 2019 Limited and Android Auto works with no issue.
