Outside of my mandatory WRB(if I get a car with that option), I think it's the best color Subaru had ever made. And I've liked a few. I'm typically a blue guy. Just LOVE this color though.

Android customers never know how to use their phones well enough to maximize AA. And since I have an iPhone and we don't get nearly as many Android users, it's hard to show it. |

This too. Car manufacturers love to upcharge for their ****ty and outdated navigation. In other news, BMW is charging a subscription fee (80 dollars a year) to use Apple Car Play in their cars

seems to be the opposite in my experience - the IOS users i know seem to barely grasp the concept of a smartphone, while the Android users have rooted their devices, installed custom ROMS, etc. |

In the few instances I’ve had trouble with navigation sending me the wrong place it’s been Google that did. Subaru hasn’t done that to me yet. Do you have something I could reference to see how bad the new factory navigation systems are?

See. I wish we had more people like you around here. One or two of our sales people have an Android. I think they just don't care. And the customers just don't know. Quote:
Hmm. Geographic? I feel bad I can't show more about it to the customers that do have it. |

I don't think they are any more bad than anything else. I've been sent wrong on several different NAVs. Started out with Garmin and it was OK. Then got my first Subaru NAV and got used to it. Years later, they gave us Garmins to put on our fire equipment. Absolutely hate Garmin now. I think the hate really stems from having to pay for updates when others don't charge. |

Happened to me several times using factory nav in the 2017 forester. Google maps has never been wrong for me and Ive been using it for many years.

User experience may be subjective, but I find Apple Carplay interface much more intuitive and smooth than Starlink. |

How long have you had your phone? You are used to it. If you played with Starlink more, you'd get used to it as well. And you don't have to take the older NAVs to the dealership to update. Supposedly not even 3.0; but, they still haven't told us anything on that. Though, yes, updates, for some, are not quick enough. |

I have AA in my car and I like it but I don't use it all the time. Google maps is worlds better then the Subaru Nav, that's for sure. Whenever we are in my wife's car and have to use the nav it wants to send us out of our way. For instance we live about an hour south of Boston. If we're going up north and have to go through Boston the nav will without fail try to get us to take an exit and drive through downtown Boston instead of just staying on the highway. Granted there is almost always traffic going through Boston but there is absolutely no reason why you would want to get off the highway and then get back on. I will say that I have an Android phone so I had never seen CP in person. My daughter has an iPhone and yesterday she plugged it into the USB in my car to charge. When the head unit came on it displayed the CP interface and it looked much better then AA. I was very confused at first because it looks so much different and I couldn't figure out how it got there until I remembered my daughter's phone was plugged in. When AA and CP get to the point where it can all be done by BT then it will be much better. Having to take my phone out of my pocket and plug it into the head unit every time is a pain. |

Try turning off the traffic(which you get free for 3 years along with Travelink) and/or adjusting route options. It might be trying to route you around backups. If you haven't got into the settings and changed that, it will automatically route you around something if it thinks it can save you 5 minutes. Go in and change that time. "Menu, More, Settings, Traffic", and then you'll see that 5min BS. I always change it to 20min if I get in a car. Also at the bottom, click the "check" asking if you want to give it permission to do it or it just does it automatically. Last edited by JustyWRC; 04-02-2018 at 10:44 AM. |

Meanwhile android auto has a nice wallpaper with color.. and more useful info on the screen and no square "app" icons. To me it looks years ahead of carplay. But that is also how I feel about VW cars (exterior already looks out of date and its still new on the lot) also and plenty disagree with me... |

That FB25DI needs to be in the Impreza Sport.
Can't believe they actually said, "... for a boost in everyday performance..." Two words don't belong in that sentence. Every once in a while my AA really lags with initial connection. Yesterday I left my house and had to restart the car so AA could work. Not a big deal, as long as I get a stoplight. It has been connecting more consistently and faster since the last few updates, compared to when I first bought the car last May. |

It would be nice if the Sport moniker actually meant something in terms of performance (ie. bigger engine). At least the Sport model on the new Impreza has torque vectoring, on my 2012 Sport basically meant roof rails and recycled Outback wheels. |

Silver lining kind of guy! I dig it! Lol
I guess I just don't see the harm in plopping that engine into one trim, charging extra, and seeing if people pick it up and also how it reviews. If they actually had a hard time keeping them on the lots, then you'd have your answer regarding the question, "Could it really use more power?" Yes. Yes, it most certainly could. |

I agree. I don't mind the minimal redesign. However, losing the performance of the XT model has me looking elsewhere for a future vehicle purchase.

-Navigation -App integration -Voice -Messaging -Software updates Antiquated is probably the word I would use to describe Starlinks update process. Really glad Subaru has started integrating both AA and CP into their cars. The only negative I can think of with AA or CP is having to plug in the device to interface with the car(Bluetooth data limitation). |

Pretty sad that there will be no turbo offering and my Crosstrek lease ends in 2019. I've owned a 12 Impreza, 15 WRX and my wife has a 15 Outback 2.5 Limited. I think I'm going for the Volvo XC40 the next time around....

With that I agree. You don't have the full suite of apps Starlink is supposed to have. The thing that angers me is when this system came out, they were like "You know how old systems were outdated basically within a year or so? Well, this system can be upgraded.....". Yeah, well, it HAS been upgraded for the 2018 WRX and Forester to have all 14 cloud based apps, but, have been told the previous model years CAN'T be updated cause the head unit is made by a different manufacturer. I can't find that proof cause when you go in and look at it's "versions", all that looks the same. What you have IS annoying and don't disagree at all about CP/AA being better. ESPECIALLY for the upgrade abilities cause I now assume that even the 2018s that have proper Starlink won't be supported later. |

I've always wanted to own a WRX, but what the future holds, probably not practical for me in the next 4-5 years. I don't see anything in the Subaru lineup that interests me, I will probably be looking at other brands as well.
