How much more do you think it would cost for Subaru to use a 2.4t instead of a new 2.4 NA? I would bet development cost of this higher output 2.4 NA far exceeds would be equipment cost of front mount setup.
Until we know exactly the engine they are putting in it, it's hard to say. What's not hard to say is a turbo vs NA. Yeah, developing a front mount is one part; but, don't forget the turbo. That also makes the engine taller, which then makes the engine have to sit higher, which then brings the CoG up.........so, let's put the turbo somewhere else.......what about all the development of a turbo engine with the intercooler and turbos in places Subaru has not done outside of a $800K+ race dedicated car?
