Default Stage 2 + Backfiring

I have an 05 WRX, and I recently just went stage 2. Prior to putting on my TurboXS TBE I had a stage 1 map with a K&N intake and a TurboXS BOV. Now that I installed the TBE and loaded the stage 2 map, my car has started to backfire. Is this normal occurrence or is it something really wrong?

Totally normal since you have a BOV. I would get the car tuned though if you dont have a custom tune since im guessing you are in cobb ap? Get a good protune since the cobb maps arent as good as a protune. Dont worry though it typical to backfire..shoot my car even pops flames i love it!!

i believe the cobb maps are built using the oem bpv, if you read the map notes on their site you can see the specifications there.

like orest said, a custom tune is wise at this point...or removing the bov and putting your oem bpv back on should resolve the issue.
