Sure ground clearance is good for bad weather, but I would be worried about high wind as the Crosstrek XV is light since it can lift it due to the ground clearance. Personnally I would get something heavier if it would be for higher ground clearance.

Getting stuck with the Impreza is not something you would experience, except in extreme situation which would require quite an offroad beast. You don't need to plow the whole width of the car to get unstuck, you only need to make a small trail so the snow don't get stuck under the car.

Get a spoiler if you go so fast that lift is an issue lol

If I could have my way, I would have a luxury car, sports car, winter car, and utility vehicle. Probably a TLX, WRX, Crosstrek, and a Silverado 2500 (for towing my horsies and work). But then again, I have no money. So I have an Imp and I borrow other vehicles when I need them. But the point is, I would never take a 3/4 ton truck to autocross, or a TLX through snowy mountains, or tow a 6000#+ horse trailer with a crosstrek. I have to compromise somewhere, so since the XV wasn't available, I got the Impreza, and lost ground clearance but gained a few MPG and some downforce.

More dashcam with GPS speed drive on the snow in Montreal South Shore 10PM EST 03/01/2015.

It is unedited. Just sharing the performance with dedicated winter tires on my car. Traction control were mostly turned on during the whole video except part were I purposely go sideway a bit.
