It's called us getting bent over...

Actually, gas prices aren't that bad. Even if they get over the $2/gallon bit, it still ain't bad. Try $2.50 for premium in Palm Beach county, $2.75(ish) in California(91 piss at that).

But the gas companies are greedy, go figure...

Gas prices are bad man...don't care what anyone says. I mean come on, not that long ago, say 10 years ago gas was still at or around a $1. Once it started going up I knew it would never come back down.

Guru

P.S. I remember the good ol days were I could calculate that $10 would get me around 10 gallons of gas and about 200 miles in my old Cosworth Escort.

Now the math is all confusing...hehe. Think afpdl proved the whole Guru's math thing is off on an old thread with 5 or so people trying to go in on a bucket of Subbie Synth Tranny Fluid. I'm still sticking to those numbers .

1) inflation
2) demand

Try another country and see if our prices are bad.

Or you could all not buy gas one day and stick it to the man

I agree... In fact, gas prices are at pretty low levels these days if you look at gas prices over the decades in constant dollars. Think about it, you pay about $1 / liter of water and pay about $2 / GALLON for gas... not too shabby considering how much energy one gallon of gas can take you (as in distance)...

To answer for the other greedy oil worker ( I work for BP). Yes they are greedy, but we switch part of our refining capcity to heating oil for the northern folks, limiting the processing of crude to gasoline. Thats a short answer. If you ever want to talk in person, I can bore you to death.

yeah!...and if ya don't like the weather... MOVE!

+1 for what Sam said too... who looks at the price of gas?... you know you need it, just suck it up and pay the man.

( note: bias-disclosure === I also work for a company in the oil-sector.. so when oil prices go up, my job gets a -tad- safer )

Get a bike or an electric car if the turbo sucks too much fuel.

easy to say when it doesn't bite you... as your hard earned money goes back into your pocket (not directly, but you get the point...)
