Hopefully our new Prez will start the rebuilding of the infrastructure of America, creating more jobs than the CCC did after the depression. Just think, from construction manual labor, to supervisory positions, to manufacturing jobs for items used in construction, it should be a big opportunity for many people for a long time, and it will benefit the future growth and efficiency of the nation.
As for everyone looking for jobs, I wish you all well, and I a hanging on to my job with my prayers and extremely hard work; a lot of luck doesn't seem to hurt either. The markets are so volatile right now that nothing but the medical or educational industries seem to be a safe place to be. I am a Petroleum Landman/ Subaru engine builder currently, and the Landman side of things are downright frightening.... and the Subaru engine building business is ok, but not very profitable for the amount of labor involved; I do it for a hobby and for fun mostly, as it wouldn't support my cost of living currently(or more specifically, my wife's). Good Luck to us all! RYNO |

If anyone has molecular biology experience, PCR, cloning, protein purification, etc. The UTSW Medical Center usually has positions. Heck, if you know what PCR is, you might want to check it out. Additionally, if you really have the above experience, contact me via PM. I might have an in to some lab work.

if anyone is willing to drive a bit from dfw area, weatherford always has a new restaurant and all kinds of business hiring. it seems a like a new business pops up every week or so. mostly hiring are restaurants not really career but if you are desperate for a job just and idea. there is alot of construction going on here as well since a 86 million road reconstruction program was voted on election day.
my dos cents |

Actually, no. Clerks can range from law students to pre law to full time positions. It depends on who you're clerking for. My brother's law firm has a full time clerk who's getting her paralegal degree and two girls that are pre-law students. But they're all called clerks, and every law firm uses them. Not just judges.

By no means is it gospel, but check out Wiki's definition of a law clerk. I knew I wasn't retarded.

Oh, you were absolutely right about the judicial clerk thing. It's just that "clerk" has joined the legal lexicon over "intern," even though that's what they technically are with those that aren't full time.
You should take the LSAT just to see how you do. Also, if you get a good LSAT score, it'll help you get clerk/legal aide positions. I took it, and it's kind of fun to tell people you did. |

Im in the market for a new job. Presently i work at Randolph Air Force Base (San Antonio area), aircraft maintenance branch. I do phase inspections on T-38C and T-1A airframes. Im a fully licensed airframe & powerplant mechanic with about 4 years on the job experience. I work very well with my hands and follow direction well. I lead when necessary and follow when the time comes.
I dont want to limit myself to just aircraft, therefore im looking into getting an ASE certification. I learn fast and highly motivated. If anyone sees or hears of an opening, please, shoot me a PM. -RK Last edited by Richk14; 01-23-2009 at 01:58 PM. |

Experienced German auto tech looking for work. I'd rather not work on cars as a career anymore, but I know I won't make as much money starting fresh in some other industry.
No rush at the moment. I'm enjoying the unemployment and have been doing some side work, but I need to find a real job sometime. I wouldn't mind getting out of Dallas either. |

My company is looking for a couple of IT consultants in Houston.
-Most important: You need to have people skills. You can be the baddest cisco/microsoft nerd but if you can't talk to clients without pissing them off don't bother Expert level experience in the following a plus (deploy from scratch, migrations, administration): -Windows Server 2003/2008 -Windows XP/vista -Exchange 03/07 -VMware -Cisco/sonicwall -Backup Exec -Anti-virus: mcafee, symantec, kaspersky -Anti-spam: postini, mxlogic etc... -Experience in network assessments, project planning and implementation. -You must be organized and know how to communicate well -Willing to do some travel outside of Texas. -Willing to drive around Houston to different clients. Must have reliable transportation. -This is not a 9-5 job. If you start crying because you didn't get a lunch break and now you have to work till 7 and it's a Friday, don't bother. If interested PM me. Last edited by trick000; 01-24-2009 at 12:12 AM. |
