Default Coolant washing cylinder out, please help

I had my 2.5 built for my '05 STI with many goodies to include sleeves, o-ringed, head studs, billet crank, forged pistons/rods, ect. The problem is that when the motor was started up coolant began spraying out the exhaust. We dropped the header to find cylinder 1 was being washed out, all water not by fuel. The shop has since been searching for the mystery leak with no idea. We are all stumped. Can anyone suggest anything? To be clear, the Cometic head gasket looks great, the sleeve is in its place, the head held on the pressure tester, and the studs are all fine. Scott

Did you have any port work done? Which machine shop installed the sleeves? How are they verifying that a sleeve did not drop? There are only a couple of places where coolant can enter the combustion chamber. And if this occurred at only an idle, it rules out lifting a head at high boost. My guess is a. someone got too aggressive while porting, or b. a sleeve dropped.

Yeah the sheafs were ported, but came off the shop car with around 100 miles and no issues, also the shop states they pressure checked the head. Not sure how they checked the sleeve exactly, but mentioned checking it all for square. I, as they, are dumbfounded. Just trying to get more help. One guy in the shop said he talked to Phil @ Element Tunjng and Phil is unsure too. Just not sure where to go next.

CNC Engine Dynamics of Winchester, VA. They have done everything to the car and they are also unable to find the leak.

Edit nm. Sounds like you guys have the engine torn back down and nothing was obvious. Might be able to put a torque plate and pressurize it through the hole for the crossover to find a leak. Would be a pain though because of the holes in the block.

Cracked head perhaps? They don't show up until the head distorts when torqued down.?
