Default So who wants to help me install...

My new up-pipe!

I just bought a Helix up-pipe for my Legacy, and once it arrives I'm gonna need some help installing it.

Porter convinced me that going with a catless pipe was an important and valuable mod for the car, and I got a good price on it. Thanks for the input man (since you're probably gonna read this post).

I'd have topspeed install it but I'm trying to do this on a fairly tight budget, as my fiance has my nut$ in a sling in regards to modding the car, and $285 for an install sort of throws things a little. Regardless, I'm gonna have them do my ecutek tuning and stuff.

So if there's anyone who's a competent mechanic and who people can vouch for here, and want to give it a shot, please let me know. I'd really appreciate any assistance, and I'd like to be involved in the installation process if possible. I'm good with my hands, even though I've done next to no car-specific mechanical work. It's all computers. :P

how's that lease going?

I'm sure there are quite a few people who would be more than happy to help with that. I've never done one by myself, always had other help in doing it. You would, IMHO, need a lift to get it done in a decent amount of time.

The lease is going quite well, thank you very much.

It's one of the factors for my decisions for mods, certainly, I don't want to spend a whole lot on parts that I can't either recoup some cost from (like tuning) or that I can't easily put onto another subaru or sell once my 4 years are up. That's why I'm gonna stick to stuff like sway bars, shifter, intake, you know.

I wasn't even considering an up-pipe until Porter told me the huge difference it would make.

Huge differences are what make me happy in my pants.

Anyways, I certainly don't expect someone to want to do it for free (unless they REALLY want to), and I really don't want to insult anyone by naming a price that might not be reasonable, since I don't really know what the going rate for these things are, so.. that's why my request is pretty open-ended.

I've done it by myself in 3 hours on my back in my garage. I'd help this weekend but I need to replace some siding on my house. We can switch jobs if you want

I don't expect to get the part by this weekend, and I'm moving on saturday anyways. If it's something you'd be willing to help out with when you get a free day in the next few weeks, let me know and we'll work something out. I know people have stuff going on so there's no set date by which I want to do this.

One word... Guinness. I will work for beer.

I did my up-pipe with no prior experience in 3 hours at a relaxed pace.

Not a bad job at all... I would say 2-3 with some help.

Any other takers? I know nobody knows me because I'm new to the community, but this is my first mod on my first subaru and I'd really like the opportunity to have some help and get to know some of you fine folks.

I can provide pizza and beer and some compensation for your time and also my fiance has pretty nice cleavage. I'll make her wear something low-cut. Promise.

See, beer I can do. A lot of beer. Veritable fountains, swimming pools of beer.

What's your schedule like for the next couple of weeks?

i'll help, but i also need help with a 30K mile service. Brake pads (maybe install stainless lines), lots of fluid changes, etc. if we can do it all on the same day, that'd be wonderful. Thursday and Friday would be better than the weekend for me, which I know is not the case for most people.

I'm booked most of the time (vacations and b-days), but I'm here on the 6/11-12 weekend.
