Default Interior Bolts and Fasteners

I'm pulling apart my interior and all the bolts are rusted (seat, trim, etc). Can I buy a bucket of metric bolts to replace all these corroded bolts?

Yea, just remove them and zip lock bag them with a note where they came from so you remember. You can get stock from fastenal or http://www.boltdepot.com/Chrome-nuts-and-bolts.aspx
for fancy.

Any local hardware store like Ace Hardware or Home Depot should have a selection of metric fasteners to choose from... They are not rare at all.

How will I have any idea of what fastener part numbers to order from Fastenal? Here is an example of what I need.

Dude. Just pull one or both out and drive down to the hardware store and match them up. It will take 30 minutes tops. The alternative it to spend hours online combing though threads/part numbers, etc for a $0.30 bolt. Also, why would you pay shipping on a $0.30 bolt?

The seat bolt is probably an M8x1.25 (that is 1.25 pitch) bolt, about 15mm long. With a lock washer and a standard washer. Buy stainless if rust is an issue for you. The bottom picture is probably actually a screw and not a bolt (coarse thread). It's a trim screw. Find something that looks similar.

If you can't figure out how to replace a basic metric bolt and washer with a similar one, hang it up now and stop working on cars. Because that is literally as easy as it gets.

If you want the OEM Subaru part number which is only good at dealerships, use opposedforces.com.

I have a fastenall about 8 miles away, it has never taken the counter person more than 30 seconds to find the one I brought in broken and rusted. If that fails I also have a hardware store that is 4th generation in the same family but you may have to find it yourself.

If you have a Fastenall near you get them in stainless. They should have just about all the standard Suby sizes in stock and stainless will only be 50% more on the smaller sizes. Your talking $18 vs $5

not sure i would want stainless on the seat bolts. get the proper grade bolt and use antiseize on the threads. you can get plated bolts that shouldn't rust.
