Winter to summer tires ?
Sorry for the nube question, I'm sure it's asked every year. When do you switch back to your summer tires ? 2015 WRX and I'm in SE Michigan. 50 degree weather has me itching, and I can already feel the Blizzaks getting greasy.

50 and above, you'll be fine. I wouldn't actually push the car hard around turns until about 65+.

Look at the weather and see if it's going to snow. Chicago is suppose to get snow next Saturday. Discount tires said it's probably best to wait till end of the month to be sure it's over with. One other thing is just because it gets to a high of 50's doesn't mean the road is that warm. |

I wait until the middle or end of April. It seems like every year we get a day of light snow right at the end of April.

I'm with Detroit Wagon, going to wait till end of April. Really don't want to get caught with summers and snow, or even really cold pavement.

I'm on 18" summer and winter wheels. Never had a problem. I wish the weather would make up its mind and just go one way. Broke the winter tires loose this morning and had traction control come on. |

All depends on your commute, 45-50* I switch to summers. My commute is 20 miles round trip to work.

Nice!! Good choice on the PSS. That's one of my favorite tires. 2nd only to Neova.
I just mounted the tires you sold me and put my summer shoes on as well. My snow tires have little tungsten studs so, it sounded like my car went from being a truck with 35" mud tires to a Lexus. Soo quiet! I will hold off putting my snows into storage yet. It only takes about 15 minutes to swap tires. Worst case scenario, I can swap back if it gets cold. |

Someone on here recommended the PSS & Discount Tires had them for $180/tire.
They were able to clone the TPMS sensors to the OEM codes, so I don't have to buy the ATEQ Quickset Tool & deal with loading the codes via the OBD2 port every spring/winter. The price was slightly higher than Tirerack, even with paying tax. At least I have road hazard repair included in case I run over a nail or something. I'll let you know when I go autocross. Looks like I'm going to try to go to the 1st Windy City Miata one at Boomers Statium on Sun 5/3 & probably with the Audi club on Sat 5/30. |

I didn't feel lost of grip/traction when I took a fast left turn this morning at ~30mph. Tires were warm after ~15 min drive & outside temperature was 28 degrees.

& it's going to snow Sunday night into Monday, hopefully just flurries, better than rain as the roads will get less wet/messy. Having a white car sucks, if there is any moisture on the roads, the car is dirty.

Did mine past weekend. Takes longer at Discount tires even if free so did 2 cars myself. Just don't drive like crazy in Chicagoland.

Yeah I'm going to swap myself even though it's free at Discount Tires.
I'm going to wash & wax them too before putting into storage. |

Since I bought my Blizzaks at the dealer I'm hoping the TPMS codes are the same as the OEM so I can swap out myself and not have the annoying light come on. Anybody have any experience reprogramming the TPMS sensors ? Or do you just take to the dealer for reset ?

Not sure what sensors the dealer put in. Probably the OEM ones. The guy at Discount Tires that programmed the sensors I bought there said he used the same codes as a '14 WRX that was there earlier in the day. Not sure if this information helps. Good luck.
