If anyone is interested, I'm selling an AP cable that is perfect for logging. I haven't tried flashing ECU with it, but I think I read somewhere that it will work for ECU flashing. Only reason I'm selling it is that I just bought an AP so now I have 2 cables.

fyi, the ap cable will not reflash with the free tools. it will log just fine though.
basically it lacks a necessary connector. hth ken |

ken is right that it will not work for flashing. the problem isn't the connector, but that your PC's serial port that it plugs into can't generate the odd baud rates need to communicate with the ECU.

Does anyone know why the Tari website seems to be down? Is v3.0.6 the latest version of ecuEXPLORER? Thanks.

I've been trying to wrap my head around this whole project...I can't believe I haven't heard of it sooner, it's just unbelievable work!
I'm currently a UTEC user, and I wonder if it would be worth selling the UTEC in favor of this? Alternatively, I know some users use the UTEC in addition to a reflash or AP flash. Is either of these preferable in your opinion? What I'm asking, I guess then, is how this could affect a UTEC user? |

if i was to post up a log of a run, which parameters would be the most important to look at? right now i have RPM, EGT, MPH, A/F, intake temp, knock correction, manifold pressure, & throttle position. im using the latest DL1 software.

EGT, MPH, A/F, intake temp are mostly useless for analyzing a run.
RPM, Timing, KC, Boost, TPS are the most useful. Sometimes IAM (doesn't usually change much), IDC, WGDC and MAF can also be useful for diagnosing certain problems. |

Ignition Advance Multiplier. With ecuExplorer you have to tell it what address the IAM is at.

Anyone know what data I should log to check for certain things?
If I select everything, it slows things down too much. I want to select 'templates' of what I need to log... any suggestions? To clarify... I want to see if my Subie is having a problem with fuel delivery vs. too much air. Or, I want to see if the engine is correcting too much due to mods. Or, what values should I watch for to get a baseline before installing my CAI!?! Thanks! |

just wanted to say that I checked this out and love it....
back in the fall of 2001 I purchased the obd-2 cable and program (Alex Peper) through a group buy here. for data logging that cable works, i have not tried to read/backup the ECU yet. just wanted to give it the thumbs up... dm |

you will find that only the logging will work.
