08-15 STi bbk upgrade on my 2018 WRX. help
i'm running 2 sets of wheels (summer/winter) currently. i have a set of 2015 STi BBS forged wheels for summer and stock wrx wheels for winter. i'd like to upgrade my brakes and get the 08-15 STi BBK (black STi calipers). after looking at the wheel megathread (), i don't understand how the 4pot BBK doesn't clear the 18" stock wrx wheels when the wheel dimensions are identical? i'm not a wheel expert, so can anyone help an idiot?

Same dimensions, but inner diameter of the barrel may be smaller or spokes are a different shape that may hit the caliper so you wouldn't be able to mount them to be flush with the hub. There's more to a wheel than outer diameter, width, and offsets.

ah thank you. i'd figure the inner diameter of the barrel would be identical considering the rest of the measurements are the same. sad

I have a 19 wrx premium and did the 08-17 sti brake swap a few months ago. The 18” wheels need a 5mm or larger spacer to clear the front caliper. The spoke design on the 18” wrx wheel from 18-19 will contact the brembo 4pot caliper. Subaru changed the wheel design slightly on the 2020 to clear.
