There are queues at every Tesla store right now. Saw pics earlier today if massive lines. Looked like a phone/console launch during Black Friday

As I said in the OT thread, it reminds me of car reveals back in the fifties, minus the newpapered windows.

Even up here in Canada we have lineups today at the dealers. Is this thing the new Apple iPhone of automobiles?

Everybody wants a piece of that 7500 dollar tax incentive that ends after tesla sells 200,000 cars. Seems like 1000 dollars is a small price to pay for a deposit to hold your 7500 dollar tax break.
Hope the car exceeds expectations....Will be interesting to see what happens. |

I'll just say what was said immediately after the first iPhone was revealed: "They're going to print money with that thing" |

I was probably ~50th in line at the Natick mall this morning at 7. It grew respectably from there, but we had nothing on Bellevue:

I totally waited 9 hours in line at the mall to give them my deposit - the news crew was there and I waived to the camera - can't wait to see if I was on TV! So awesome, and of course I was at the mall anyway - picking up the new Kardashian eyeliner, visiting the Genius bar (for geniuses and other cool people), and seeing other smart people wearing smart fashions.

That long of a line to give Tesla $1000 ? I would have gone to place a deposit if I did not have to work today. I think this model 3 will be amazing; I don't even have to see it to place down my hard earned money. My reasoning is simple, if their $120k car is 'good', so their $35k model will just be the same. You know, just as fast, just as luxurious.

I reserved a Tesla 3 about a minute before it went live, someone leaked the URL. My credit cards was charged right away.
