the investment in the money just makes it not feasible to have buyers remorse.

People that don't know much buy them slap on a Dp and intake without a tune and hurt the motor and then sell them cause they can't afford a new shortblock

honestly for me, it was dealership. on the island i live on we dont have an official subaru dealer, only an authorized dealer, which is actually a mazda dealership. when they are not up to date with their subaru vehicles, it made it kinda sketch. the tip of the iceberg was when they wouldnt even cover the battery, which on 2011 wrx with less than 5k miles, i would expect it to be covered. i love subaru, but if not even a battery, what else if it was more severe?

Someone could have bought a 2011 almost 3 years ago now. So while that's recent, it isn't unheard of with vehicle purchases.

Now I'll give you my real life story...

I bought a 2011 base WRX hatch, then the tsunami happened. Long story short...I was able to trade it in 6 months later, with 8k miles, for $500 less than I paid. For me, at the time, it felt way to similar to me 2005 I had before.

So yea, that's one of the reasons I did

Some people are in jobs where they drive all the time. I had my Legacy GT for a bit over 3 years and sold it with 91k miles on it.

I want an 08-09 LGT badly. I had an 08 3.0r that I loved, but it had a lot of trans issues so I got rid of it. Everything about the feel though was great. I loved being in that car.

It's too bad I'm so skeptical about used turbos.

Yerp they get the car and are like "Oh, only a $500/mo payment" then after they get the payments they're like "Oh ****! $500/mo!! What was I thinking!?"

They are often people who make $30k a year also. They don't realize a $500 car payment ends up being $800-$1,000 a month with gas and insurance, and that doesn't figure in maintenance.

$500 a month on a WRX is insane to me though.

I pay $210 biweekly on my '08 WRX simply because I put $0 down. The reason? I can withdraw my stock options from my work in 2 years and pay off the entire rest of the principle in one go, thereby saving interest.

What else are you supposed to do when they get dirty? It's not like you can wash them.

This is America. We've grown up to have the mentality of instant gratification.

When we want something, we buy out of impulse without thinking.

I think it has to do with the younger generations trying to buy a car they can't afford; nonetheless, pay insurance and gas for it.

Some us like to trade in cars every 3 years or so, I like being able to try new vehicles out(I truly love all cars), you only live once. I have a new dog now, who doesn't fancy the loud exhaust, stiff suspension and quick movements. If I had my choice right now, I would probably be in a new Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, I am pretty sure it will be my next vehicle choice, I really loved my 2006 JGC with the HEMI.

i was like that for the last 20 years. ive had 8 new vehicles since 1994. this is the first one ive payed off. also payed off 3 years early, thanks to my wife being good with finances. for 2 years no car payments have been a great thing. its at 52k right now. i would love a new car but dont want payments again. i dont think i see me trading the wrx for anything else for a long time longer. i love it too much and have invested too much into it to sell it. wifes 2011 forester will be payed off this year too. i still have 2 years left for warranty even though ive only had to use it for 2 broken sunvisors! been a very reliable vehicle for me!

I know, my thing in life is cars though, I just don't see myself limiting the one guilty pleasure I live for. I loved my last 3 vehicles(2004 GTO, 2006 JGC Limited, 2003 MINI Cooper S), this one I am on the fence about, needs refinement. I sometimes think I'd be best finding a low mile SUV for winter duty, and parking a slightly used Z06 in the garage for summer fun. As I drive less than 11,000 miles yearly, so each would last forever.

I have a 2011 and if I see the right car I will trade/get rid of my WRX in an instant for several reasons...
I like new cars
I can get a great trade...guaranteed by Subaru
Payments(although I almost always pay extra every month) will go down.
It is cheaper than building a new garage to house more than 2 vehicles

You're probably right, no matter what I would want to try something else new out there, and the Z06 would get old
