Hahaha - nah, I use Rotella T6. First owner blew engine at 30k. I'm at 130,000 miles now.

Maybe the OEM build wasn't very good :P

What motor build did you replace it with? Is it another OEM motor or did you use aftermarket internals?

Another block with stock internals, but they dropped in a stock 06 STI short block instead - re-used the heads.

Thanks for all of the replies so far, they were exactly what I was hoping this thread would develop into
UPDATE: Had it Protuned today and it made 303WHP and 336WTQ. They also installed a Cobb EBCS for faster spool and sustained boost. Great gains for only a TBE!! Feels like an entirely new car from the OTS tune and even further away from stock. I plan on logging any issues/problems I run into on here so anyone else who also goes this route can have a reference. Hope this was helpful for anyone interested in going stage 2.

Very nice numbers.
How do you think the ECBS helped for a faster spool? Did you do it in conjuction with the Protune?

I used a Cobb OTS tune for a week and I think that target is 18.5 psi. The protune targets 20 psi but it's not all about the numbers. The real advantage of the protune over the OTS tune is 1. Specific to your vehicle and 2. You will see full boost faster. So even though the HP and TQ increases were only by 20HP and 40TQ, the major advantage is reaching full boost at 3400 RPM's as opposed to the OTS map reaching full boost around 4k.

Went Stg 1 at 250 and liked it over total stock as made it way smoother.

Went Stg 2 this weekend at ~3000. Made it spool faster and still loving it.

Next step is protune.

How ya likely the HDSS clutch? VD'd around your numbers with 06 wrx stock turbo catless intake on e85. Almost time for a new clutch!

Btw get on that e85! Hit the 350 torque mark man!

350 wouldn't be a good idea on a stock 5 speed (especially with 120K miles) from what I've gathered.d

Oh and the HDSS is a nice clutch. Feels similar to stock with a much better engagement point (lower).
