Default Apexi CAI Users Chime In

I reviewed the installation diagram for my Apexi CAI and noticed they instruct you to install the metal restrictor pill between the IC and BPV. Can someone explain why this is needed and did you install this with your intake? I haven't measured the pill opening but looks to be half the ID of the stock BPV ID.

I installed mine because Apexi told me to!

It's obviously used to limit the amount of air that can go back through the intake. It's probably just for noise reduction, or maybe protect the MAF?

Thanks rob. I planning on following the diagram, but was curious of its purpose. A friend figured with the change in back pressure (with the CAI vs. OEM), additional back pressure was needed on the system. If my Japanese was better I probably would find it in the text instructions, but I'll stick to the diagram and use it.

1000 soldiers couldn't protect the legendary MAF from much.

I'm not using it. BOV is loud, but no other notable issues.
