Weekend of epic proportions for sure. My only complaint is that it was over too quickly. I have a lot of images to go through...

this was probably the best trip i've ever been a part of, we had 6 of the coolest guys (and their families) in one place. besides how amazing all these cars are, they really are incredible people.

we all drove distance, no one was from chicago, we all drove roughly 8400 miles combined. coming from as far away as Portland, Maine and as close St Louis, Missouri. we had every modding style in one place at once. this trip was a perfect representation of what this community is about. you had people with JDM obsessions, carbon fetishes, cravings for power, simplicity at it's best, everything was represented. we all had mods, some more than others, but there was something we appreciated about everyones car. i can't count the number of times in caravans i was oogling everyones cars. i was blown away constantly. honestly i dont consider my car to be much special, i am honestly honored to have been asked to join this trip and experience. you meet some people in communities that become friends, good friends. these were those people. the jokes, the just drinking and enjoying the company, shooting ideas, learning. the amount of knowledge that was assembled with us 6 was nothing short of incredible.

the amount of power by the way was well north of 2000, xluben being the majority of that. at no point was this a dick measuring contest, we respected each others cars and modding direction. we had Rotas, Advans, Works, Weddsports, and Enkeis. all of which looked incredible, multiple power levels, multiple looks, everything.

i honestly can't even put into words how insane some of these vehicles are.

rsutton - that paint is just incredible as is your sound system and interior. you'll never be able to capture that color, it's insanity. and you are such a great dude with a cool attitude and next time dsutton will be there and it'll be a great time.

xluben - your car is just full ****ing retard. the brake boost and that much power is pure insanity, and the knowledge you have about these cars and how they function and all the little tricks is awesome. it was a pleasure to learn from you.

jive - man, what do you say. underglow, weiners, the whole 9 yards. you are truly one of a kind. you fit in so well with the kids.

flex - the jdm sexyness is incredible. you had the meanest looking car, going down the road it's the kind of car that eats small children and destroys worlds. it is a beautiful machine. the attention to detail is nothing short of incredible.

overland - you are probably one of the most laid back dudes i've ever met, always willing to go with the flow. everything on your car is so well thought out and purposeful. it truly is one of the best DD cars on this forum. it serves it's purpose so well.

i was honored to be a part of this, it was awesome. the pics are amazing and there are so many. just wanted to say this bit, really appreciated it guys. you are all awesome dudes. seeing some of the iconic cars on this forum in person was awe inspiring to say the least, blows minds in person.

thanks guys!

I couldn't have said it any better!
We all came from different angles and modification standpoints. You are without a doubt so much fun to be around and bring a unique perspective to the group with your ideas and style. We're all excited to see the progress with the car as it comes together.

Such a great family too, we'll miss them!

What a weekend. I am going to attempt to get my thoughts into type here so we'll see how it goes.

Going into this weekend, I really didn't know what to expect. All of us have kept in touch online for about a year now. We have always gotten along and enjoyed keeping up with each other's cars, family and other life events digitally but not actually in person. Within 5 minutes of pulling up and hanging out, everything just seemed to work. As it turns out, these guys and their families are even cooler in person than they are online.

What is even cooler is that all of us drove from very far away on built cars with basically zero issues. No one bailed last minute and everyone was able to make it. I haven't had local meet-ups go that smooth and most of us had to drive 12 hours+ to get there!

Each of us have a very different approach to modding. I have kept in touch with each of the members over time through different aspects we have in common. It ranged from power to interior to carbon and everything in between. When you get the cars together you can really see the theme each of us went with and all of them looked awesome in person. It really reminded me how difficult it can be to capture the true essence of a car in pictures. We were definitely turning heads rolling down the streets of Chicago (especially when there were 1st gear pulls involved to scare drunk people just getting out of the game at Wrigley. Sorry...can't resist the ricer fly by).

At the end of the weekend, I only have two complaints. One...the weekend went by way too quickly and two...my wife and son weren't able to be there. What started off as a group of guys wanting to get together to see each other's cars and hang out ended with the cars really being almost irrelevant. I am really blown away about how cool everything turned out. I can't wait for the next trip.

I am finishing up my pictures from the weekend this morning so I will post them up as I get them done.

Wow, very very cool guys! Amazing to see all these cars together in one spot. I'd love to join in on the next one, but it looks like I need to be putting some some serious power to be considered haha. Keep up the great work everyone. I am sure I can speak for all of us, you are all an inspiration!

Overland04's white hatch.

I feel like such an *******. We did his car first and we didn't get a chance to do the rear shot. To make matters worse...this was the only sharp one of the sequence and he helped me rig every single one of the cars. I owe you a shoot big time man. I am sorry this is the only one that came out.

Thanks for sharing the experience in word and pictures; looks like a great time.

@besthaticouldo - Sean was telling me about your bumper over the weekend, I need to see it in person. I'll shoot you a text this week so we can connect on upcoming projects.
