Hahaha. We need to do what we need to do. Do you have plans to lower your car?

Not really. I like the stock height and have no real worries of the front end scraping on drive ways lol. This Subaru is more of a everyday, all seasons, daily driver. I do have plans of getting a weekend car in about 4 years that I will mod out. I looking at the Fiat 500 Abarth. I did do one new mod on the Impreza and thats a new weighted shift knob. Its a great shift knob. I just need to do something to keep the shift boot up. There isnt a retainer on this knob. Here are some photos.

That's the best and only way to wash your car. Hand washing is the only option to me.

Photo update on my new weighted shift knob. I found a way to keep the boot in place. Its not up with the knob. You will see in the photos.

Ebay also has it for a lot cheaper price as well, but it ships from China, if you're willing to wait.
Ordered one from China and the fit was good but the function was the suck. When I open it, the whole thing just pulls all the way out, the lower plastic C tabs that keep it in are too loose. YMMV

I love black so much. I almost got it, but always wanted a red car that wasn't fast, yet looked fast.

Share your new purchase later!

That should be Subaru's slogan for the Impreza

Winter is here. Today was the first snow fall for the Tri-State area. Took a photo of my snow covered Impreza. This was the first time driving in snow since I bought it. I have to say it was amazing. I was able to drive with confidence knowing the 4WD system was doing its job. It felt like I was just in rain instead of snow lol.
Anyone else get there first snow or anyone driving there Subaru in snow for the very first time? Lets see some photos and share your experience(s).

It's been in the 40's here in Alaska. My car looks more Dark Gray than red. Lol It's been rainy too. Terrible winter with no sign of letting up.

Love your pics! Fresh snow is the best snow!

Thanks. Yeah the snow was fresh and still falling. I was quite impressed with the way the Impreza handled the snow covered slick roads. I was doing the speed limit and higher lol passing cars doing like 40 in a 55.

Stock tires which are Yokohama Avid 32 all season. The highway had mainly slushy snow with about a inch of snow on the less traveled lanes.

IMO, having AWD is great, but it isn’t foolproof and snow tires make a huge difference, AWD or not. I learned my lesson before driving on all seasons during winter when I slammed into the back of a tractor trailer.

So, interesting enough, I've been driving around in Anchorage, Alaska, with the stock tires still. I couldn't afford proper snow tires at first, but then decided I'd rely on my skills to see how the tires do. It snowed a bit, then it rained, warmed up to almost 50 degrees, froze, rained, and it's kinda warm again, yet still freezes at night. Pretty much the slickest, worst weather one could ask for... and you know what? The stock tires actually aren't doing all that bad. I do random brake checks to see how badly I slide and it's not that horrible. I drive across the entire city almost daily. I was afraid I'd feel like I was in real danger, but they're honestly not the worst tires I've ever experienced.

I still think there's no substitute for dedicated snow tires or winter tires, but I got trips coming up and can't afford to get snow tires at the moment. Hopefully next winter I'll have Hakkapeliitta R2s like I've always wanted.

Sucks because I do have 17", low profile studded snow tires that I used on my BRZ, but I don't have 17" wheels and shipping to Alaska makes even cheap wheels somewhat expensive.
