So if you guys remember I asked for some advice on what camera to get to get into car photography/Videography. I finally narrowed down do the last few choices. Nikon D3100, D5100, or the Canon T3i? I'm really leaning toward the D5100 as it seems like it has the most bang for the bucks.

How do your hands feel on it remember you will be using it for many hours if it doesn't feel right on your hands than you will never fully enjoy it

I think it would be which one will produces better results for what I want to use them for. They both feel about the same for me. From all the reviews I'm reading it seems like the D5100 would be a greater camera for video as it has a better autofocus system and it is quite a bit cheaper than the T3i. Any though?

From my knowledge about the D5100, but not much with the T31 tbh, i would have to recommend the D5100. In addition to the great specs on paper, it's solid feeling, and has good weight. I have generally always liked the nikon products compared to canon as far as feel/ergonomics/solid feeling body feel

Also keep in mind that Nikon lens' tend to be more expensive than Canon. I don't know if that's a factor for you.

I own the D5100 and love it, it's an awesome camera. I've never used the T3i though so I can't really say which one would be better. It has a lot of pretty cool built in feature and takes some really good photos if you know what you're doing with it.

Thanks for the input everyone. I think I'll go with the D5100.
Yeah I did hear Nikon lens were more expensive than Canon. But I won't be going professional or too crazy with this hobby. I should be good with the 18-55mm kit lens that comes with the camera for awhile. I'll probably get another 2-3 decent/good lens later for different application. |

i wish the frame was a bit more square. seems like the angle is just off here, especially if you look at the road in the background? or is this just me.

Got some unexpected snow during the shoot, so I went in a little different direction with these. I tend to shy away from the cooler tones but I think it worked well with these.

Are a lot of you guys using reflectors for outside shoots? And is one usually enough or would you recommend having a couple?

Very nice. You've done will with the exposure on the snow, but the last one is getting close to the point where there's a little too much recovery, since the snow (and even the car) is starting to turn a little grey.

Pretty damn awesome! The only thing that bugs me is that the top left of the frame is significantly darker than the rest. That might just be because of clouds or the position of the sun, but I think if you were able to balance that out a little better, it would make the photo more complete.
