How the **** do all of you people keep your cars clean? It isn't even summer and my car's constantly covered in pollen, etc. DGM paint.

Even if I walk away two hours after washing/spray waxing my car, it's covered again. And I can't spray it with a hose because then there are water spots everywhere.

You people? What do you mean "you" people???

Haha no my car is fithy 90% of the time. That is why I went with the silver, even if it is really dirty it isn't as noticeable. I try to wash my car once a month during the winter and like once every two weeks over the summer.

Second what kinger37 said. It also helps that the dealership I work at lets employees use the car wash here. Mine gets cleaned once a week and cleaned out/shined up every month or so. It also helps that I've got ISM too. Most folks are like "bah, Silver is boring", but I really think the ISM is a pretty color... not to mention distinctive from your normal silver cars out there because of the way the sunlight plays with it.

I personally wish I got ISM, my DGM gets dirty so easily, and I have so many swirls from a car wash I unfortunately went to once.

No car washes within ten miles are touchless, nor do any do a real undercarriage wash. No bueno

When I can I wash and dry it by hand with a microfiber brush and Meguiar's soap, then dry it by hand, and apply spray wax. (Ice wax, or Meguiar's Quick Wax).

Also, RainX once every three or four months is enough.

I actually think Subarus look better when they're a little dirty.

I wash my car once every two weeks or so, take photos immediately after, and then let it get dirty again. Wash, rinse, repeat...

I'd like my car dirty if the windows didn't get so pollen covered

Once Nikon sends me back my DSLR I'll take some real photos of my car.

Anywho..

On the list of things i've done to my car(2012 Impreza Base Model):

1. Plastidipped Stock Grill
2. OEM Sport Roof Rack
3. Continental DWS and eBay Wheels
4. LED Dome/Spot Lights
5. Passport 8500 x50 (does that count?)
6. Tints (probably getting 30% front 25% back this Friday)

To Do:

1. Leather Seat Covers
2. Pioneer AVH-X1500DVD Radio
3. Rear 19mm Sway Bar
4. Flapatax? Maybe.
5. 1" Subtle Solutions Lift kit? (possible)
6. LED Turn Signals/Tail Lights!

I love seeing Base Models getting tricked out. It's been a wonderful canvas for me to work on since I got mine a year ago. Looking forward to pictures, Dan!

I applied RainX to all the glass the day I got it. Otherwise, I spray mine down a few times a week. Crap loves to spot up the car, especially the rear of the wagon.

Why am I just discovering this thread now? This sucks, now I have to skim through over 100 pages. lol

Um anyway here's mine... this was exactly how she looked when I drove up to the dealer lot. I consider myself lucky, I gave it its first test drive with 3 miles on the odometer, and 3 test drives and 45 miles later I said I wanted it. I was the only person who test drove it. hehe. This was after I spent a day detailing it last summer... an the gay little dealer license plate frame has been removed lol, just the plate on the front now.

She's a beauty! You don't see many Premiums with the Alloy Wheel Package and the Sport Mesh Grille. Is yours a manual, too?

Cool. Got one in mine too! Seems like most of the enthusiasts have the Base or Sport Premiums with the 5 Speed Manuals. The '12 Impreza was the last year you could get a Premium Sedan or 5-Door (not Sport) too, so I had to ask.

Enjoying it, I take it?

What have you done to yours?

Aside from your SPT exhaust everyone is always raving about (myself included).

'11 WRX Wheels, Blacked-out Grille wings, AppRadio (iOS version), Tint, K&N Filter, Rear sway bar, nothing super extensive. The SPT was really the biggest thing and I've got more lofty plans, but it's a fun car. I'm proud to have a one-of-a-kind Impreza. No-one in the local group I'm active with (NSOC) has anything like it.

I'm considering H&R springs in the front...the uneven wheel gap between the front and back is bugging the hell out of me. Even after I put on my 18" wheels, the rear spacing is perfect, but the front still looks to have an additional 1" to 2" gap.
I've always seen this disease referred to as "ass sag". It was an awful thing on my previous car ('01 Pontiac Grand Prix). This dreaded disease has claimed many a good looking car.

I am probably going to get 18s for my car... the pics in this thread of 18"s on stock height really aren't all that bad, wheel gap was far worse with Grand Prixs at stock height, this new Impreza isn't all that bad. My only dilemma is what size tire to run! I agree it looks better lowered but I'll take my ground clearance here in New York!

If only there were springs out there that offered around a .7" drop, I might consider it. But I just can't do the H&Rs... 1.4" is too much, I'm scraping at stock height backing out of my driveway!

What percent tint, and do you see any difference with the K&N? I was debating on 30% front, a little darker back, and also that filter, but didn't know if it was worth it.

It looks like you lowered your car from the photos, i'm surprised you didn't.

Final question, aside from the install of the sway, how much did the bushings/end links/bolts cost you?

Thanks for all the help! This is my first real car (I didn't even own my '07 sportage for a year) so i'm still rather new at all of this.

Absolutely! It's a lot of fun to drive. Like I told my salesman after test driving it, the only thing I deeply miss is the 3800 Series II my Grand Prix had, just wish my Impreza had a little more power but I'll live with it. What I lack in straight line speed I can make up for in the corners, lol.

My plans for this summer are wheels (probably), and I would really like to tint I am just afraid of getting pulled over and having to remove it (can't have ANY tint in NY, so stupid). And I am *patiently* (rolling eyes) waiting for an exhaust to come out for it, just for a little bit of rumble, nothing excessive. STI 19mm sway bar (those in this thread who have done this... did you use the stock end links and would there be a point/benefit in upgrading?). I already ordered and am awaiting arrival of the perrin front STB. Then I will be happy! lol.

Wow. Wrote a giant post and it never went through. Fail.

As soon as the H&R's or Eibachs are released I'm getting those, and either wider 17's or some 18x7.5's. Hope it's soon so I can proceed with the build.

Default A few photos from my Montauk Trip

Went to montauk with the gf, took a few photos!

Don't have CS6 on my work computer so I had to use paint for a plate delete, oopsie

More images to come after I get window tints, etc.

And this is the base model, don't even ask what I had to go through to get that OEM roof rack on

Tints aren't legal in NY but if it's not too dark you won't be harassed! I see Caddy's rolling the streets with limo black tints and I've never seen them get pulled over. As long as you hover around the 30% tint range you'll be okay.
