Sound deadening materials were used more in the 2012 Impreza than the previous style. They now added panels in the engine compartment and one on the CVT trans. Wind noise probably has to do with the aerodynamics.

Are there any lowering springs or suspension mods available for these yet?

I haven't really noticed that it is that loud at highway speeds, and I don't crank my music either.

Have you considered that the majority of your posts are complaints about how your Subaru Impreza is not as good as your previous BMW? Noisy, underpowered, lacking steering feel, you can't override safety features etc.

What did you expect when you decided to drive the least expensive Subaru vs your last BMW

This would be like me trading in my new Impreza for a Smart car, then complaining about the lack of a rear seat, the noise, the lack of power, etc...

So this going to be the before photos because I am getting the spoiler, front underspoiler, and mesh grill installed this week. I will also be debadging the car. In the spring, it's going to get tinted. Here in Missouri, the front side windows have a limit of 35%, but the rear side and back windows can be anything.

Same here - waiting for more supply and I, too, wish the XM Radio at least came with the Limited versus having to buy the NAV to get the XM.
Also, I do like the White Satin Pearl, even though I'm not a big white-car person. It looks very snazzy in this car, especially with the dark wheels

Ah i love the hatchback style.. but the rear end... ugh i personally dont like it. I wish they had the MY09 rear, with the MY12 front. I think that would look better.

Thanks That's not my real plate anyways. It's just photoshopped to say, "000 000". I just got lazy and didn't do the rest of the photos I'm going to try and take the "after" pix in the same spot.

There is literally no sound deadening in the 2011s. It has very little to do with weight and everything to do with price. Imprezas are the least expensive model Subaru, so this is to be expected. You'll have to look at the Legacy or Tribeca to find anything even slightly comparable to a BMW.

Two new Imprezas? Nice! Are you ditching your MS3 for it?

Yes sir, after two special service service program letters, one for the smoking turbo and and one for the variable valve timming. I only have 33k on it too. Its a fun car but it was built cheaply. Shocks are about done, rear motor mount is weak, front sway bushings need to be replaced, car rattles when cold...thew list goes on. Having an impreza will give my driving record time to cool off too..

I was going to go with a 2012 WRX, but the dealer dude was telling me to wait for the 2014-15 WRX to come out.

Does anyone have the wheel specs on these? any idea what width/offset will work for 17's and 18's? I prefer the stock 17" alloys over the sport limited dark grey wheels, but I'd probably replace either regardless.

The Sport models have 17"x7" rims with a +48 offset. It also has the same 5x100mm bolt pattern as the WRX.

And I am sadly mistaken for the sound deadening on the Imprezas. I had no idea and was just guessing as this is my first economy car. Am I expecting too much from my Impreza? Probably, but now I'm learning more about this car and finding things I still like about it. Thank god this is only a lease.

I know u can get 18s if u like..go to the tire rack thread and call the guy who posted a sticky..i believe he said 18's will work but u have to use a 225/40/18 tire. He'll be able to give u the offset as well in case ur looking at specific rims.

i was interested in 18's but wanted 225/45' s so ima hold off til i see pics of upgraded wheel setups as people start to upgrade their 2012s

I have 18x8 w/ 225/40/18 tires waiting to go on it the spring. If they don't fit, they will be going on the STi and the 17x7.5 BBSs will be going on the Impreza.
