Driving to the track on RE-71R
I have a 120 mile drive to the track and back. Will I put a lot of wear on the Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R tires if I drive on them there or should I just keep the summers on and change tires/wheels at the track?

You will be fine, I drive on mine all summer, very minimal mileage but no major wear. I mean if you have 2 sets of wheels and tires and you feel like swapping at the track then go for it.

I run mine as my DD tires for spring and summer and also Track and AutoX them.. I usually a new set every year... I've done 4k road trips on them and I can't tell that much wear.. great tire on wet roads, and superb grip on dry pavement. They don't last as long as a touring tire and are fairly noisy, but hell our cars are noisy! Enjoy!!

While the wear may not be much, keep in mind if you wear out/cut a tire it's a long drive home on the spare.
Maybe swap there. An aluminum jack is nice in this case as is an electric impact gun. Just a thought. |
