Default I just got the 240 stuck...

...on pavement.

It is raining outside. Street had pretty steep downhill slope. I was turning into a restaurant (on my right) parking lot with a very sharp turn in. I was already going very slow because of the rain, but you have to go even slower because the turn-in is very sharp. So I tap the brakes and turn the wheel. Lo and behold, I break traction and ever so slowly start sliding downhill toward the curb on the far side of the turn in. The car comes to rest right before the front bumper meets the curb.

So I try to back up and complete my turn. Nope. Car will not back up because the slope of the street is too steep. I can't go forward or I will hit the curb. I have never seen anyone stuck on pavement before. This was a first. I try to mash the gas, nope. I try to gently throttle the clutch, nope. I try various wheel directions, nope.

After a couple minutes of this, 3 guys leaving the restaurant push my car back a few feet up the hill and I complete my turn.

My tires aren't even that bald. I have about 1-2mm all around. However, they are probably very old as they were on the Cefiro front clip that I brought over from Japan.

205/55/15 Kumho 712. Got a quote from Tirerack for $290 shipped. Going to Discount Tire tomorrow to get them put on at that price plus mounting and balancing.

Current 205/60/15 all-seasons suck. Way too flimsy of a sidewall with my stiff suspension.

Nope, very hard to find cheap aftermarket parts like headgaskets and such. Will most likely buy another clip and have one for a spare to build up. You got lucky on that SR clip.

i hope your not talking ca18 because that engine is trash, I would either stick with ka24 and turbocharge it (easy power) or get a sr20det swap put up with hell nightmare of wiring that thing.

a CA is trash but youd go with a KA instead?? LOL

its not anywhere near as versatile as the SR, but with the iron block, its worth a bit more than trash. ive seen them hold plenty of power in person....

being that the CA and RB20 are highly outdated, its going to be extremely hard to find any parts for either.

I'd much rather turbo the iron block varieties, especially the KA. Built correctly, it will hold much higher boost and have a .4 liter advantage, not to mention you can stroke them...

CA is iron block....and strokable. its hard as hell to find the kits now tho....

SR is strokable too....hehe. but without the iron block.

ehh. it just all depends on the build....and the cash involved.

I've seen far more blown KATs than blown SRs and I've been around alot of 240s. I'm kinda half "Nissan guy". KA is good, but too unreliable for big numbers. And since when is the SR a wiring nightmare?!? I wired up mine in 30minutes! It's only a matter of switching a few pins on the S13 to mate the engine and chassis harness. AND I had A/C!

I wish I still had that car...
