Hip Hop Heads: Talib Kweli Free Performance Tonight 4/13

Just wanted to post this information for all you SCIC Hip Hop heads (I had no idea you guys were out there until this past week). Talib Kweli is giving a free performance in front of the student union at Cal Poly Pomona at 6:30PM tonight. Not sure about the accuracy of this information, but I'm gonna roll there with my cousin who goes to Cal Poly-she gave me the heads up.

Could be true, a lot fo hip-hop acts are going to be in so cal for a week or two (audiotistic and coachella) ill be sure to check it out though. thanks for the heads up. best talib kweli song ever? simple "Let me see" featuring Morcheba.

I go to Cal Poly and they are having their Bronco Fest today from 12-5 I think. My roommate said he's gonna be there at 6:00. I'm down here is San Diego, so I am missing out.

I think Kweli was billed for Audiotistic, but you know, it is a 12 hour event! I actually went to Cal Poly tonight to see him perform since I was jealous that my friends were at Audio. It was well worth it. I wasn't much of a Kweli fan, although he was dope on the Blackstar album, his solo album didn't impress me. He is a great performer though, and I think I will take a second listen to his album. Something I always liked about him though was his crisp delivery, and I really appreciated that during this live show. Although I was hearing some songs for the first time I was feeling the lyrics.

I was hoping that Mos Def would come on for a surprise set, but I heard he was scheduled to perform at Audio at the same time that Kweli was supposed to perform at Poly.

Damn, those Cal Poly people, they know how to put on a free event!

Oh, and to keep this thread relevant to this board, no sightings.
