First off Ron is the man!! He spent alot of hours and dealt with some of my questions.

When I first contacted him I had a stock block 2.0 with an 18g. It was previously tuned by Agile. Well long story short it died on me while I was at the track.

I ended up getting a full version nine swap for the price of a version eight. I hit up Ron right away and asked if he would be able to tune it for me. I get everything up and running and we start the tune. A few days later my family comes into town and I can't do anything. Friday evening we do about 8 logs before I had to stop, lots of cops out on a friday night.

He is so fast with the revisions that I would just park and use my phone as a hotspot and load up my new map. Last night we did eight more logs to finish the tune.

The car feels awesome and the torque is ridonkulous!! This is a dd and autocross car so it should do very well now. I know mpg isn't usually that great with sti motors but I am sure I will still get good mileage as well.

Thanks again Ron, once I change a few things and need a retune I will def hit you up and let you work your magic.

I also higly recommend anyone who is on the fence to go ahead and go with these guys.

I had Ron e tune my VF34'd Saabaru over the past couple weeks. He gave me 11 revisions, even did 3 on the 4th of July!! I will definitely be back when I get bored and want more power bolted on.

I've had multiple tunes by both Ron and Mikey. Every experience was awesome. Mikey hooked me up with my Stage 1, Stage 1 E85, and Stage 2 E85 tunes. Ron the took care of my Stage 2 E85 tune when I added a CAI and Hybrid boost control and then a Stage 2 93oct tune. Both men are amazing tuners and extremely knowledgeable. Ron was great with the e-tunes and Mikey was a blast to be around when I got my dyno and road tunes. I highly recommend either of these guys for tunes!

Had a dyno session with the incredible Mikey Botti at The Shop CT. He's one of the most down to earth, laid back people I've ever met. Not only that, but he's EXTREMELY knowledgable, and is MORE than eager to help out getting your car properly tuned and pulling harder than a son of a bitch. I will NOT hesitate to drop Mikey's name at every chance I have. I'm looking forward to getting the Alcohol going!

Ron just finished an e-tune for my VF34'd hybrid. To reiterate what has already been stated, his reponse time for a new ROM was super fast. The base map he started with had my car running better from the start. Many, many revisions later and it runs great. Do your car a favor and tune with Phatbotti.

Mikey tuned my car on the mustang dyno at EFI Logics. The car is like night and day, he nailed the tune. Super smooth power delivery and great boost build. His customer service is great, super knowledgeable about tuning and how a car should run. Definitely having him tune all my cars!!!

Been working with Ron for quite some time now. I first contacted him October 2012 via PM, when I was faced with an engine rebuild due to a blown headgasket and a cracked ring on #4 during a track session.

Ron was very friendly and helpful from the get go. He was very patient making sure to answer all my stupid and dumb questions Although he lists specific hours of availability, every log I've ever sent was always responded to within 20 minutes. Whether it was at 11PM or 11AM, I could always rely on getting a new revised map in a most timely manner. He definitely exceeded my expectations there.

Communication was excellent. I appreciated the fact that Ron was patient with me while I was working through my break-in period on the rebuilt engine and new clutch which ended up taking a few weeks. Once the break-in period was done, we started working on turning up the boost and fine tuning the map.

This whole experience has also been a great learning experience for me as well, looking at the logs and getting a better understanding of what they mean and getting to see first-hand the slight changes in the logs from the tweaks that Ron was making to the map.

Aside from the impressive power and driveability of the car, I'm equally impressed with how Ron was able to remedy the DBW issues I was having with the "delay" I was experiencing when letting off the throttle from WOT. Previously, the car would still accelerate and propel forward for a second after letting off the throttle which is a bit unnerving. Now, the car's responsiveness is instant and reminds me of drive by cable.

Thumbs up

My first tuning experience with Phatron was back in October of 2012 when I threw on a 3071. The tune was great but unfortunately, I found that my BOV and IC piping both had leaks during the tune. My fault completely but I contacted Ron after having new piping made and a new Tial BOV put on.

During this last tuning experience, we were about 4 revisions in when my clutch failed. The guys who built my motor installed it wrong. A month went by and after a new clutch/FW and break in, we went back to tuning.

This has been one of the best tuning experiences I've had. I already had Romraider/Ecuflash set up and a quick replying tuner that kept me in the loop was exactly what I was looking for. Ron sent revisions back so promptly, I usually had a revision ready for the morning, a new one after work, a new one after dinner and sometimes a few more later at night(10-11pm cst).

The car is great dailying now with the new tune and with hot start issues sorted out. I take daily logs via Tactrix Standalone SD and there hasn't been a blip of knock during pulls. Thanks again Ron!

Just finished getting a tune from Ron for my V7 207 and was very impressed. Very professional work, starting with low rpm working up to redline, I felt Ron took all the necessary precautions for e-tuning. As everyone says map revisions are very quick to come back, helped me work through a intake leak issue and answered any silly questions I had. Can't recommend enough, these guys are at the top of their game.

I contacted Ron looking for a few maps on my build.

The car is built to the SCCA specs for A street prepared Auto-x, forged custom JE's, VF-39 with all supporting mods.

Ron was a consummate professional and really helped me get me set up straight. I had a bad AVCS gear, leaks in the Intake and a leaking BPV at 18+psi.

Ron diagnosed my issues and didn't mask it with tuning. He told me something was wrong and suggestions to repair it. I'm glad he was very meticulous as I promptly repaired all said issues (even if I had to remove the timing and AVCS gears
I'm revving the car to 7800 and we know the VF is just pumping hot air, but it's specific for auto-x.

I went for 2 maps. 94oct/7200rpm low boost for lapping and an auto-x specific map on E85.

The car feels amazing and has perfect throttle response. The smoothness of this map is what catches me off guard. Just pulls consistently.

I highly recommend Ron's services for tuning and he is more than willing to assist with problem solving and guidance. He seemed to be able to point me in the right directing when needed.

Thanks again Ron. A VERY happy customer.

Do not hesitate to utilize the knowledge at Phatbotti!

Super thrilled with my tunes. Ron worked on e85 with boost swapping and alternate 93 octane tunes. Ron has a super fast response time and is willing to explain any step of the way. I will be going through him for all my subie needs and will refer my friends to him as well. Can't say enough for his professionalism and thoroughness. Made some awesome power!

Thanks again Ron!

This was my first experience with opensource remote tuning and datalogging, and I am extremely happy with Ron's service. Prior to this I had only used an OTS Stg 2 map. This was a massive improvement. The entire process was painless, he sent revisions very quickly, and the end result is fantastic.

The car is an 04 WRX that I installed a Blouch 16G-XTR, Process West TMIC, MAW TGV deletes, and Deatschwerks 750s. The car runs very smooth, and the power is everything I had hoped for. I will definitely be a return customer in the future!

Thanks Ron!

Thumbs up Phatbotti (Ron) Review

I have to say I have looked around and a friend had Ron tune his car so with him having such an awesome experience I had to go with Phatbotti tuning. Ron was quick with the new maps and had the most patients when I was having trouble with my car. I had CEL codes popping and with his help and guidance I was able to get the car out of limp mode and start logging again. After about the 8th map I had injector problems and a bad fuel pressure reg. After my car being down for a few days waiting for parts we were back at it. After all of the issue on my end we were able to get the car tuned and I am happier than a pig in mud. Ron was so professional and helpful. This guy know his stuff. When we get E85 here I will be back to have the car tuned for that. I highly recomend him to anyone looking to have their car tuned.
Thanks Ron you are the Man.

Ron tuned my stockish ver 8 EJ207 swap and I couldn't be happier. It was fun and his attention to the ol/cl maf scaling was impressive. Already looking forward to more mods to have him tune it again.

Thanks Ron!

Default Ron Watson went above and beyond expectations

Whenever you work with someone, you never know what you have bargained for in terms of customer satisfaction. Ron was the most patient person when it came to helping me sort through both technical issues and my own lack of experience. Ultimately, we tried MAF, Speed Density and a hybrid before I eventually gave up (after like 50 map revisions) and took Ron's advice to bring the car to a shop to have someone diagnose the issues with my car. He was always enthusiastic and encouraging. I'm heading over to TheShopCT next week for some diagnostic work and then for a tune by STI Mikey. Thanks for everything Ron!

Contacted Ron for an e-tune on a 05 STi with stock turbo/tmic/motor with pretty much every bolt-on upgrade. My clutch had to be replaced in the middle of tuning due to it being stock and running on 95k miles and pretty much on the verge of slipping. Ron was very understanding and very willing to wait for the new clutch install before continuing the tune. The whole process can consist of a few days or a couple weeks, depending on your schedule and his, but Ron is very accommodating. Do not be afraid to email him with any questions regarding the tune or any upgrade recommendations prior to starting as he is very insightful and helpful. Will be coming back for any futures tunes!

Ron did an e-tune for my on my EJ257/205 hybrid swap in my GC and was amazing during the entire process -- I can't imagine the combination of parts he was dealing with was an off-the-shelf thing for him, but he continued iterating with me, always responsive and knowledgeable, until everything was perfect. This has been a multiple year project for me and it feels amazing to finally have it running and running like I'd always hoped it would.

Thanks again Ron!
