Royal Purple Engine Oils????
Has anyone had any experience with Royal Purple synthetics! I'm interested in upgrading to synthetic fro my WRX but not sure which brand to go with! I'm new to Synthetics, never used em before!

From what I've heard Royal purple is right up there with Mobil One... or better. I've never used it because of un-availability. I post on a kart racing forum also and some people use Royal Purple in their high dollar($3k) Briggs engines and stand by it.
Some things race car engine builders recommend: 1. Don't use synthetics for break-in. 2. Use a good synthetic once broken in 3. Change every time engine is run hard (autoX?). 4. Most factory cars are dynoed for one mile at the factory. They are run at 3-5k rpms for one mile. Then shut down. Sounds kinda harsh, but your engine may be already partially broke-in. Does this help? Chris |

#4 I can't confirm for Subarus. How many miles did you Rex have when they delivered?

Craig from Acceleration Pluss can hook you up with some Royal Purple. Goto Product Database and click on one of the Redline products to get contact information.

Sounds like something you'd put in your Bentley.

I had heard that it was more of a racing oil...great for performance, maybe not as good for longevity.
Also, I don't believe that engine oil needs changing just because of an auto-x. IMHO |
