This was only my second time photographing a car, but since I'm doing a photo project on cars, I got myself a DIY rig and had to test it out on me on scubbie first =D
CC is appreciated! ............yes I realize I'm missing a driver, and that it's kind of weird driving to and from buildings... and my editing is pretty damn inconsistent lol. All shots were done with a 7D and 10-22mm lens (great EF-S Lens) and settings varied from 2.5s - 3.2s exposures, @ f8 - f22 because I shot at dusk and the light changed very quickly lol. First 3 are at ISO 100 and the last one is ISO 800 and edited in both Lightroom and PScs6 |

That composite shot turned out really nice. A full frame camera and a wide aperture 85mm or longer is pretty much perfect for that. Anything shorter and it starts looking weird (ie. too wide angle) once you stitch them together. I like playing around with the Brenizer method but you really need the right background for it to work with a car shoot. I think that one looks great.

Haha. I know what you're talking about but editing and then posting them here or any other photography venue will help a great deal. You have to do it a lot to learn what is over the top and what is not. Even the littlest changes like cropping can change a photo. I don't want to keep posting the same pics over and over but I feel it's a good example of editing. While I'm not great at it by any means, it just goes to show what could be done with very little work. Also keep in mind that everyone, and I mean everyone is going to have their own opinion and style. So take all advice and apply it to how you like to do things. This is not the original but it's almost identical BEFORE Final edit. (I went through a few) AFTER Last edited by INKMAN; 09-16-2012 at 10:49 PM. |

I just re-edited my response to show you an example of editing, I don't know if you saw it. I will check the pic out.

I just recently got my new lens. I used my 18-55 for months. Picked up a 55-250 for my sons baseball games. Then I got the 50mm f/1.8, and now I have my 85mm f/1.8 ( I'm not sure what Nikon has, I believe they have a 90mm for cheap.) Super sharp and not that expensive.
