I use a Microfiber towel for everthing in and on my car. I like the feel when im wiping it down or removing wax, nice and smooth. They got me.. Waxing claybaring Whenever you feel like it......I wax once a month and a full step clean every other month. In between real waxes I use eagle one wax as you dry and i love it.

Do not use a microfiber when there is dirt on the car, the surface is so uniform there is little room for any dirt/debris to move into the pile of the towel, leaving it on your finish scratching away.
Microfibers work wonders when removing wax as you need to use VERY little pressure. the towel does all the work. Make sure they are clean, flipped often and NEVER dropped. also when i drop my micro fibers they go from being paint towels to interior towels... They have an uncanny way of trapping debris in them and it is not worth taking a chance of using them on paint again cause they can cause a TON of damage if they have something stuck in them. lol... also... there are a few different kinds of MF towels. I suggest you read up on it if your really serious about enlightening yourself. The ones you get at Autozone/BJ's/Any local bozo store are usually of much lower quality than some of the ones some of the professional detailing suppliers carry. Each type of tower performs better in different situations... as I said... I suggest you do some searching if you are interested in learning more. I'd start at a place like www.autopia.org I'm sure some other people can give you some good links too. actually i just found this link... it should answer all of your question better than I ever could http://articles.autopia.org/index.ph...x_v2&id=7&c=22 ~v6 Last edited by V6TurboTA; 07-07-2005 at 06:10 PM. |

And make sure its a GOOD quality microfiber towel. There are a lot of cheap ones out there that aren't worth the packaging they come in. Just fork out a little extra, get some nice towels and take care of them. Also, maybe look into different TYPES of towels. Get maybe one or two towels specifically for drying, and one for polishing/ removing wax. Thats all I have and it works pretty well.

Like everyone else has stated, beware of cheap microfiber towels...
We have blue towels which are great for interior, wheels, windows... We have white towels that we use for exterior/painted surfaces. We even ship them with resealable bags so as to keep them from getting dropped or left out to collect dirt in the nap of the cloth. A good way to go is: wash Clay polish/wax Bryan |
