Unhappy Will 2011 sti heads work with a 04 forester XT?

I have a 04 Forester XT , I spun a bearing and smoked pretty much everything. I bought brand new 2011 Sti heads from subaru , and set of used 04-07 Sti cams . The new heads come empty, so just the castings. I am using my stock valvetrain from the Forester .

My motor is almost ready to be assembled and I found out the the 2011 Sti's have dual avcs, I had no idea. Will I be able to use these heads ??

Today I brought my stock heads to the machine shop and compared them side by side . It appears that I just have a couple egr ports, a oil port and a bunch of holes that are on what just a flat plate on my heads.

Does anyone know if I can just block all this stuff and still use the heads? A local shop said I can drop of the heads and he can make me some block off plates out of aluminum.

Any help is appreciated.

Send them back, and purchase heads for your car.

Why did you buy 2011 STI heads in the first place?

There was miss communication between myself and the shop I orders them threw. I said 2011 for the nitrated crank and they thought I wanted 2011 for the heads also. When they said 2011 heads I assumed they new they would work for my car as they had my car make/model , vin # and I didn't ask any questions.

Unfortunately the heads are already machined , my valves cut and the.heads a fully assembled . So I can't return them to subaru . Definitely wish I.found this out before the.head work was already done.

Anyone know of a reason why blocking all the extra ports won't work ? Clearly it's not ideal but neither is trying to sell these heads.

Thanks again.

Default 2011 STi heads on 04 Forester

See if you can trade them. Plugging unused ports will not cut it.
