Cracked firewall?

Mine just started clutch started making noise earlier this week. Exactly what you describe. Didn't think much of it.

Yeah I've seen a few threads on that issue. There was a Guy that said it was a mounting bracket where the wld on the firewall cracked and he welded back cuz he was out of warranty Haha

So I put the h9's in today. And I'll admit they are brighter than I thought. They just don't have the reach but I'll see how they do in wet weather before I decide to keep them. Ive been used to the hotter color temp so this yellow will take getting used to. Or maybe I'm just more sensitive to the whiter light as was mentioned. Does anyone have a whiter h9. Sorry to be such a bother but were not all as smart as some on here. And we all learn diff.sorry u couldn't get what I was askin bit I answered it myself putting them in. So thank you to those that actually took tome to explain. But for my eyes they aren't as good as the zxe in all aspects. But I'll give em a shot.thanks again

The fact that you admitted you were wrong and are thankful for people helping you out, I applaud you for. A lot of people on nasioc can't handle the truth sometimes but hey we all gotta learn somewhere or sometime right?

Very true, that's why you gotta filter everything to find what you are really looking for or need to know.
More on topic-anyone here have the STI group N tranny mount? I'm probably going to pick that up pretty soon...

Just installed my kartboy short shifter, first impression is "wow ". Definitely decreased the throw and its very noticeable. I'm 100% pleased with this product. Although I did not install the bushings yet.

Glad you like it man! Any hiccups in the install? The C-Ring was a bitch The rear bushing is a pita. Well worth it though!

You won't need the pliers.. Just pry it off enough to get a needle nose in there. Then yank it off

Nah the shifter took about 10-15mins at most! C-ring was pretty annoying but with a lil finesse it came out pretty easy. Had a lot of errands today so the rear bushing will be a task for a different day . Overall so far I'm 100% pleased, can't wait for the rear bushings to go in.

It's basically the same idea. We just don't have an intercooler, turbo, and up pipe in the way. The EJ motors are all generally the same.

Ahh that's what I was thinking. What would be a good trans to get? Goin from auto to man. Future plans are to do a motor swap with tasteful mods. Well wait arent all 5 speeds the same? And yes I kno it's a lot of money and work and I'd be better buyin a wrx but Im getting this car how I want and don't want to give her up and redo it all haha might sound stupid to some.

Might as well take any value your car is currently worth and throw it out the window.

I've already done that with what I have done. So that's not the issue or any help lol. But how many ppl mod and do their car to worry about value.

Just buy a car with a standard transmission. To do the swap you need a tranny, clutch pedal install, make sure the shifter fits in your stock automatic shifter location. The dash will say PRND unless swapped with one with the wrong mileage and an ecu swap too. Honestly it's not worth the work. You could put the cash towards a new vehicle and save the headache.

Funny wrx sti do it all the time and its ok a n a guy does it and not worth the money. Odd how that is but hey as stated my money. I know a guy did it on here and only cost 2k just can't find the thread anymore. It was a while ago. Even if I sold mine (as stated) I'd be upside down so not with it to me. So just looking for some good threads if anyone know any I'd appreciate it. But as I was told wrx is same concept so maybe I'll just use that.

From auto to manual? It may cost $2000 in parts but if you can't do the work expect to be double or more. I'd recommend saving up the money and put it towards your car payments. Best thing I have ever done was refinanced. Put $1000 down and lowered the term by 13 months and went from 9.9% to 2.69% rate. Payments dropped by about $40/month.

+1. Also, krzy, your comparison to guys with wrxs/stis are guys who either blew there tranny, or are going to a 6 speed swap. Also keep in mind those are cars that retain value and can easily be sold to a 16 year old.

It makes zero sense to take an automatic car that is worth at a minimum $500 more then a manual, and convert it. If you are upside down on your loan, why in the hell would you consider spending more on your car? Work on getting right side up, and deal with having an auto.

Krzy... Why didn't you just get a 5spd to start with when you bought the car if that's what u want?

And why people extensively mod cars that the bank still owns is beyond me, but to each their own I guess.

One your assuming I still owe on it. 2 I meant I won't get what its worth bc of what's been done already went the trading route. I have thought of sellin out right its a pain fory situation to do that but your right I'd get more. 3 as stayed I've already spent time personalizing how I want it don't want to do again. 4 this was kind of a impulse buy I had to get a car the one I went to look at they just sold. I knew they had this bit they wanted 16k. Ended up talkin hi down and out the door for it for 11 hence the reason for buying it not to many Subaru in my area and especially not for that price for a 09 premium. Shouldn't matter the why I want to or if you think it's a waste just looking for some guidance is all I got the basics of what I need AMD to do and yes I know what it entails and yes I'll be doin the work just need the finer things. I.e. wiring side. That's all I'm asking.
