Default iPhone 5/6

It is supposedly going to be released in 2 weeks on September 12th.

I already have 4 users in my organization that would like release day or ASAP as soon as they are available (I am the IT Manager)

BUT, Samsung may give Apple a taste of their own medicine. Samsung owns numerous LTE patents that Apple presumably used, and has pretty much said that they will sue for an immediate South Korea and US ban of the iPhone 5 if it is announced to have LTE, which it widely assume will be.

Quote:
Ahead of the upcoming Apple iPhone 5 release date, new reports have suggested Samsung will attempt to sue Apple over the handset’s expected use of 4G connectivity patents.

The latest reports, which come just days after Samsung was order to pay Apple $1.05 billion following a longstanding patent dispute in the US, have suggested the Korean handset manufacturer could target the eagerly awaited iPhone 5 if Apple launches an LTE 4G model.

According to the Korea Times , Samsung has confirmed it will target Apple’s next generation smartphone, and potential 4G LTE iPad mini tablet, with immediate legal action if the Cupertino based firm attempts to launch a new device that infringes on any of its patented technologies. Apple has repeatedly argued that a selection of Samsung patents should be made industry standards due to their broad, sweeping nature.

Failing to offer a direct source for its claims, the Korea Times reports have stated that “Samsung confirmed that it will immediately sue Apple if the latter releases products using advanced long-term evolution (LTE) mobile technology.”

I'm sure this will be the top-dog device to have for at least 12 days after its release.

I did my due diligence. There was no direct iPhone 5 thread. I actually took the time to search multiple pages of results. If the iPhone 3, 3gs, 4, 4s all had their own threads, no reason we shouldn't buck trend. The news was directly related to the iPhone 5, and its being released soon.

So, recapping:

-Android has an android thread.
-Windows Phone has a windows phone thread.
-The iphone has a new thread for each iteration so that adopters can exude their perceived superiority over previous iphone owners.

.. and there's only one Android phone and only one Windows phone and those OSs only have one thread each on NASIOC.

Just go on the internet and tell lies.

This is OT. People don't search. There is also something like 70+ different models available which compounds the problem. Despite that, there is still one catch-all thread for android. How many iphones are there again?

It actually makes since. Only one major apple product vs a giant fragmentation of Android devices. The Android thread is on its 2.0, which will probably get to 3.0 soon since that thread is getting pretty large.

I am not an apple fanboi by any means. I have a work issued iPhone 4s and iPad, and a 3rd gen iPod that's still kicking. Android is most definitely where my heart is, I traded my 9 month old iPad2 straight across for a sealed in box Xoom, and haven't regretted it. All my personal devices (Evo 4g LTE, Kindle Fire, Xoom, Evo 4g (campdroid)) are Android. Both have their ups and downs.

I recommend iPhones to non-tech savvy people such as my coworkers all the time. They just can't break them easily. The worse thing they can do to inconvenience me is accidentally delete their exchange account, and that is literally a 30 second fix.

Quite the opposite, actually. We're collectively laughing at the notion of Apple getting a taste of it's own injunction medicine.
