Default Wanted - Toyota and Honda rumors

Haven't been keeping up with the developments from other car companies. Plus, no digital cable means no Speed. Whats the deal with Honda and Toyota for the 2004 and 2005 model year?

Honda revised the S2000: 17" inch 10 spoke wheels instead of 16" 5 spokes; Stroked the engine to ~2157cc, 240 hp @ 7,800 RPM instead of 8,300- 163 ft/lbs of torque at 6,500; 8,300 RPM redline(good bye 9,000 RPM ); suspension revised to provide fool-proof handling at the limit.

Ah screw, look it up yourself.

Rumors are again floating (mainly due to a Motor Trend article
but also due to a Hasport rep echoing the same thing) that
the Civic Type R will be here mid-next year. I guess a couple
Acura dealerships are taking deposits on Integra Type R's as
well.

I think Honda is working on bringing over a truck sometime soon
(maybe '05) and the Honda Fit/Jazz, a 4 door lightweight economy
car, should be here next spring. I'm thinking you probably saw
the pics of the newest NSX (a concept, at least) on here, b/c I
think I saw them here myself first.

I heard if you go into the bathroom and turn off the lights and say "Honda" 3 times, there will be a "Type R" badge on the counter when you turn the lights back on

rofl.

That's what he wanted to hear, some good news about Type Arghs. The current Si is such a disappointment over the previous gen. It's definately a good sign if dealers are taking ITR deposits, but how much is that going to cost? Type S's run in the 24k range, so that'll be at least 26k for an ITR? Won't that cannabalize TSX sales?

What's dissappointing about the newest Si? (I know I have one,
but here's my unbiased opinion.)
The new Si has more hp/tq that older versions. Weighs a little
more, but in return has a much more solid chassis. Has a better
interior. Tune-ability and aftermarket is not as large, but that's
to be expected with a brand new engine/chassis.
I get the looks thing (some like it, some don't), but otherwise I'd
say it's an improvement over the old Si in almost every sense.
True, it's not a CTR.

I dunno about the Integra R rumors - really just heard about it
today. Doesn't make a lot of sense (nay, any?) to me - like you
said about the TSX, TL and what not. Only thing I could see is
if the CTR/ITR are released as real limited edition, like 2K a year
or something. But what manufacturer these days seems to want
to limit their initial sales that low?

The new Si has way too much body roll IMO, in addition to other things. I actually like the looks though.

So when you say Integra Type-R, that means RSX Type R in the US, right? I certainly wouldn't mind having one...

I don't want an RSX Type R at $26K+, that's for sure! There are waaaayyyy too many other cars out there for that money. I bet we don't see an RSX-R but we do see a CTR.
